The collaborative single “Going Home” by rapper Kiyo aka Nakid and beatmaker/DJ MAHBIE will be released on Friday, July 26th.
Kiyo aka Nakid, a member of the hip-hop collective LowCulTokyo, which is active mainly in Tokyo, and MAHBIE, a native of Iwate Prefecture who is currently active in a wide range of fields, including as a live DJ for Dengaryu. This song, which is a collaboration between the two, is based on the theme of “Going home properly,” which at first glance seems uncharacteristic of a rapper.
There is momentary enjoyment, but the attitude is to play for a long time. The lyrics, which are inspired by the last scene of the movie “8 Mile,” in which people return to this place while thinking about their families, jobs, important matters, and other things they each have to deal with, and are filled with strong feelings inspired by H jungle with t, are frankly rapped over MAHBIE’s emotional beat. Nagoya-based singer nanoha also participated in the chorus for the melodic hook. The music video and artwork were supervised by CHIP of the collective.
