To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the release of his second album “LIFE” (1994), Kenji Ozawa will hold a one-night-only anniversary live show at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan on Saturday, August 31st.
At this live performance, Ozawa not only performed all the songs from “LIFE” but also invited almost all of the main musicians who participated in the recording to thoroughly recreate the sound of the album. Members of the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Suchadara Parr, Hicksville, the orchestra conducted by Takayuki Hattori, and others who created the sound of “LIFE” will gather on the Nippon Budokan stage. In addition, it is planned that the equipment and methods of the time will be used as much as possible during the performance, so we can expect an overwhelmingly accurate live performance.
On the stage that day, the songs from “LIFE” will be performed in the second half of the live performance, and many songs other than “LIFE” will be performed in the first half of the live performance. If you have a song you would like to hear, please request it on various SNS using the hashtag “#LIFE Kenji Ozawa”.
Tickets are currently available for official pre-order (lottery) and are priced at 9,000 yen for those over 19 years old and 6,000 yen for those under 18 years old (both excluding tax). There are also “parent-child seats” available only in the stands, where you can watch the show without having to stand. The price and seat settings were set to make it easier for friends who used to listen to LIFE to come together, and to make it easier for people to come with their children.
Furthermore, for fans coming from far away, there will be hotel rooms with commemorative merchandise designed by Ozawa. Details will be announced later.
[Kenji Ozawa comment]
The release date of the album “LIFE” was August 31, 1994. Exactly 30 years later, on Saturday, August 31st, at the Nippon Budokan, we recorded the sounds of all the songs of “LIFE” with the members of Ska Para, Schadara, Hicksville, the orchestra conducted by Takayuki Hattori… in other words, the many people who recorded it together. I will reproduce it. Songs with three keyboards were reproduced by three keyboardists. It should make you say, “That’s the sound!” Please come listen with your friends who used to listen to music together in the past, or your children who have recently become interested in music. On the way home, I would ask, “Dad, why are you crying?”lol
In the first half of the live performance, we will be playing songs other than “LIFE”. If you have a song you want to listen to, please check it out on Instagram or Xwitter with #LIFE Kenji Ozawa. If possible, please include a personal anecdote.
Thank you very much for your time. At the end, let’s all sing “Love and be loved and live” together and go back to our lives.
with family and friends.
