Elephant Gym, a three-piece band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, will be making their first appearance on Billboard Live. They will be holding a solo concert at Billboard Live YOKOHAMA in Kanagawa on Monday, October 14th (National Holiday).
Last year, they celebrated their 10th anniversary and released their 4th album, “WORLD.” The album includes collaborations with Seiji Kameda (Tokyo Incidents), TENDERE, ?te (Whyte), and YILE LIN (Hayashi Iraku), both from Japan and overseas.
The fact that many artists participated in the event attracted a lot of attention, and in June of this year the group won the Jury Award at the Golden Melody Awards, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards.
While initially based on instrumentals with a three-piece band sound, Elephant Gym now transcends genres and musical frameworks, and embodies a wide range of musicality, including songs with vocals, collaborations with various artists, and in recent years, the band has introduced a horn section to its live performances. At this concert, they are planning a special performance with horn arrangements and players on some of the songs.
