Rapper EVP will release his new single “PAROPARO G” on Friday, July 26th.
EVP, who attracted attention with his first single “Kobra” released in April, is a next-generation multilingual artist with roots in Japan and the Philippines, who is fluent in English, Japanese, and Tagalog. He also participated in Ken Francis’ “Shake Dat Booty” with eyden under the name Evee, and “Cheddar cheese Remix” by Vega KfK of the Chiba-based crew Link Hood.
This is the second single, and features Chinza DOPENESS and Dengaryu as guests. The song was produced by TICTOC, who has worked on many songs and collaborations with MIYACHI and Hiiragito, and the track incorporates elements of baile funk, bringing out the humor and brightness of Filipinas (Filipina women).
The title “PAROPARO G” is a play that was popular in the Philippines, with “paropalo” meaning “butterfly” in Tagalog. In Japan, it has also come to mean “unfaithful” as customers who go off to other places in Filipino pubs are likened to butterflies, and the music video produced by Studio Ishi expresses this worldview. Set in a retro Philippine pub, the cast includes EVP as the president, Chinza DOPENESS as the president, and Den Garyu as the waiter, resulting in a chaotic and addictive video work. The music video is scheduled to premiere on Monday, July 29th at 7:00 PM.
