Female singer-songwriter Hiyori Omiya is set to make her major debut with the digital single “404” on August 2nd, released under Tokuma Japan Communications.
Hiyori Omiya first gained attention in 2017 when her self-written and composed song “Friend MK” ranked on the music app Eggs. Since then, she has been actively releasing music and performing live. In January 2023, she released her first digital EP “Bitter and Sweet and Blue and Spring.” One of the tracks from the EP, “Sigh,” gained traction on social media platforms like TikTok. With her distinctive lyrics and unique world view, she has garnered support from a wide audience, leading to her major debut.
Her debut track “404” explores the theme of “escapism” in today’s SNS and internet-dependent society. The mechanical sounds blend with Omiya’s intense vocals, creating a unique representation of both reality and the online world. Attention is also drawn to the arrangement by the talented high school student and emerging keyboard artist “Shiganai Koukousei,” whose playful and innovative techniques add a fresh perspective.
Starting in June, Hiyori Omiya has been hosting her first radio show “Hiyori Omiya’s Yoru wo Terasu Tsuki,” airing in her hometown of Nagasaki on FM Nagasaki.
