Bungeitengoku released their 9th single “Hatsukoi” (Ubukoi) on April 24th. The melody line and lyrics are reminiscent of Japanese poetry.
This is the first single after the end of “Ascension”, which was their first live performance in three years, and it is a song that was created with the arrival of spring, and it is a song that is typical of Bungei Tengoku, where you can feel the spring in Japan with falling cherry blossoms. The latest artist photo released at the same time as the release has a mature atmosphere and a sense of something new, even though it is in the lineage of the past.
On the day of <2nd one-man live "Ascension", which was a big challenge for himself, he not only performed at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall in Tokyo, but also held a one-day limited store of the brands "Kissa Bungei" and "PARFUM de bungei" in Omotesando. The opening event was held simultaneously at three locations, which can be said to be the culmination of a literary paradise. The venue was 10 times the size of the 1st live three years ago, but this time as well, rather than going through a live production company, the members themselves supervised the operation, planning, and production of the three locations, and took a break from production for half a year. ko shinonome reflected on the feeling of attending the live performance with all his heart and soul as follows on X.
“I felt like I was walking endlessly down a long, dark tunnel…Tasks that didn’t end until 4 a.m. every day, meetings, meetings, submissions, submissions, submissions. No matter how much I slid through the to-do list. Since the end of the summer of 2023, I have been unable to see the bottom of my dreams, and I have felt left behind by the world.Although I continue to encourage myself, the walls remain large, both financially and physically. I have always tried to do my best, even though I was faced with the things I couldn’t do.”
Their 9th single “Hatsukoi”, released after that success, contains their life-sized present. I would like to share with you Sumi Aika and ko shinonome’s comments regarding “Hatsukoi” below.

“Everything is in vain! What we built by patiently enduring the cold and pouring in half a year of time, effort, and energy has been destroyed in just one day. It’s completely empty.
Even if you look at your local park or along the river, there are no cherry blossoms in bloom anymore, and you won’t even see petals that have fallen to the ground. The cherry blossoms are gone and spring is over. Nothing. No one is talking about cherry blossoms anymore. Life must be like that over and over again, and I sometimes feel empty, wondering if that day has already been forgotten. But when the cherry blossoms bloom again, everyone will start setting up food stalls in a carefree and peaceful manner, and I’m sure they’ll be enjoying the cherry blossom viewing just like last year.”

“Spring had already arrived after I finished the one-man live in February.I started writing this song in a hurry, and it was completed just as the cherry blossoms bloomed. As soon as the flowers bloom, the Japanese spring begins to fall, and even after it falls, this song will still be there. I want to feel it.”
