Guitarist SAKI begins music activities that transcend genre boundaries as a solo artist

Popular female guitarist SAKI will begin her career as a solo guitarist.

SAKI, a Japanese female guitarist, has led the domestic metal world, consistently winning the highest ranking for Japanese women in popularity polls in heavy metal magazines. The metal girl band NEMOPHILA, to which she belonged until the end of March 2024, had a successful performance at Nippon Budokan four years after her debut. In 2023, she was selected as the guitarist for Like-an-Angel, led by L’Arc-en-Ciel leader Tetsuya, and has steadily built up her career in the music scene. SAKI started playing classical guitar in junior high school, and became familiar with pop music. Eventually, out of respect for Seikima II and QUEEN, she switched to electric guitar and became a professional metal guitarist. She is a multi-talented guitarist who loves various genres of music and can play with great skill.

After becoming independent, he not only worked in the metal scene, but also transcended the boundaries of music genres and expressed himself in scenes other than performances. His first solo live will be held on June 21st (Friday). Guest musicians include Chisato Kawaguchi (drums) and Hana (Gacharic Spin), who has led the Japanese girl band world together, as guitarists.

As the oldest member of NEMOPHILA, I have been training as a metal guitarist, conscious of my role of supporting the challenges of other members. After becoming independent this time, I would like to join various musical activities that interest me without limiting the genre.
Also, while focusing on my core element of “music,” of course placing importance on delivering songs, I am also looking forward to taking on challenges in a variety of situations that go beyond just performing and songwriting.
