New Member “Kanachi” Joins Girls’ Band YouTubers STMLT!

Meet the Talented New Member “Kanachi”

STMLT (pronounced “Sutemi-leitsu”) has a new face! Welcome Kanachi, a 22-year-old from Oita, Kyushu, who’s ready to rock with her killer death voice.

Growing up in a household where MAXIMUM THE HORMONE was always playing, thanks to her music-loving parents, Kanachi was no stranger to death voice. She loves festivals and SiM, just like our keyboardist HANON.

Kanachi played volleyball from second grade to her first year of high school, even serving as ace and captain. She’s got serious grit and determination.

Inspired by her parents, Kanachi started her singer-songwriter journey in her second year of high school, performing live in Oita. She did acoustic gigs reminiscent of Aimyon.

Believing Oita offered limited opportunities, Kanachi moved to Tokyo at 18 to attend a music school. She shared “play and sing” and “drum performance” videos on her personal YouTube channel.

Until recently, she was a guitarist and vocalist in a rock band, handling songwriting. Though now deleted, her X posts during STMLT’s auditions hinted at her struggles with her previous band.

From First Appearance to Official Member – Kanachi’s Journey on YouTube

On July 19, 2024, at 7 PM JST, STMLT dropped a new YouTube video.

Titled “[Urgent Shooting] An Adorably Skilled Death Voice Applicant Records With Us,” the video introduced Kanachi to the world, showcasing her death voice talent to the band members.

The next day, STMLT uploaded another video featuring the second interview, now a staple for the band. Titled “[Fateful Moment] Final Interview with New Member Candidate in a Luxury Sauna,” it highlighted Kanachi’s skills and character.

Kanachi’s musical talents, appealing visuals, and stage presence were undeniable. Guitarist Kirara asked if she had any flaws, to which Kanachi humorously admitted, “I’m kinda dumb,” which only made her more endearing.

Kanachi enjoys talking, loves eating despite her small appetite, and wants to create TikTok medleys for their YouTube channel.

When Bassist Akira asked why she applied, Kanachi explained her struggle to find a place for her death voice and her desire to utilize her skills and face new challenges.

At 22, Kanachi is the same age as Kirara, making Kirara no longer the youngest. The band unanimously decided to welcome Kanachi, impressed by her musical prowess and determination, having moved from Oita at 18.

Kanachi, excited about her new journey, shared her goal to perform at international festivals and bring a fresh energy to the band.

Her first live performance with STMLT is set for August 4, 2024, at KT-Zepp Yokohama. The band members encouraged fans to experience Kanachi’s powerful death voice live.

Kanachi joyfully ended the video with a celebratory death voice shout, “Yattaaaaa!” (totally different from Masi Oka’s “Yatta!”).

The comments section on the second day’s YouTube video was filled with excited requests for twin vocals and guitars, reflecting high expectations from music-loving fans.

Kanachi also announced her STMLT membership and the privatization of her TikTok account (@kanachi_deathvoice) on the same day, showcasing her dedication to the band.

Can’t Wait for KT-Zepp Yokohama Live, New Songs, and MVs!

After a few months since a major member’s departure, STMLT has revived with the addition of the genius drummer Sakitee and the talented keyboardist HANON in early July.

Now, with the multi-talented Kanachi on board, STMLT is back in full swing. We can’t wait for the KT-Zepp Yokohama live show on August 4, 2024, and the new songs and MVs featuring the new lineup.
