The “TV Asahi 2024 Sports Support Song” that will liven up the Paris Olympics broadcast has been chosen as “Apollodorus,” a newly written song by Mrs. GREEN APPLE.

“Apollodorus” will be released digitally at midnight on July 3. The song will be used in Olympic broadcasts, Olympic-related programs, news and information programs, and sports broadcasts such as the “Men’s Basketball Final Domestic Match Before the Paris Olympics Japan vs. Korea” on July 7.

Regarding the song’s creation, Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s Motoki Omori (Vo & Gu) commented, “I’m honored (about this request). I honestly wanted to portray energy in a grandiose yet delicate way. I think the Olympics is an opportunity that comes once every four years to give courage to all of Japan. I can’t put into words the power swirling in the minds and bodies of the athletes, but I hope that I can be of some help in the form of a song, and liven up the Olympics, even if it’s presumptuous. ” He went on to reveal the surprising story behind the song’s creation, saying, “Actually, this song is a suite, consisting of two parts, one written about 10 years ago with the Olympics in mind. The themes are fighting spirit, turbulent feelings, and a relaxing, grand zone of calm and movement. It felt like a conversation with myself over the years, and it was a very meaningful production.”

When asked about the sports he is paying attention to this summer, Omori commented, “Personally, I am particularly paying attention to volleyball. I think of him as a teammate who ran through last summer with me, so I’m rooting for him.” Wakai Hiroto (Gu) said, “I’m paying attention to (soccer player) Matsuki Kuu. He’s a central player for the Japanese national team, with his aggressive plays on both offense and defense, and his mentality of leading the team. I expect him to play an indispensable role in this Olympics. We will be cheering him on with all our might!” Fujisawa Suzuka (Key) also spoke of her passion for soccer, saying, “The press conference announcing the Japanese national team members will be held on the 3rd, but I’m paying attention to soccer.”

Finally, Omori sent a message to the athletes who will be taking on the big stage, as well as to the fans and viewers who are looking forward to it, saying, “I hope that the song Apollodorus can be of some help. I want to liven up the atmosphere!”

Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s song, which expresses their feelings about the Olympics, will create a special summer that comes once every four years.
