■Important notice from Fujifabric (full text)
Thank you for your continued support of Fujifabric.
Fujifabric will be suspending their activities as of February 2025.
Please forgive us for making this sudden announcement as we approach our 20th anniversary year.
Fujifabric was formed in 2000 by Masahiko Shimura, but we lost our precious Masahiko in 2009. We consider the time we spent with him, the feelings we nurtured together, and the scenery we saw together to be irreplaceable treasures.
The three members kept this feeling in their hearts and decided in 2011 to continue their activities with the determination to continue making music and protect the important place that is Fujifabric, and have continued to move forward with the support of many people.
In 2023, while working on their 12th album, “PORTRAIT,” released in February of this year, Daisuke Kanazawa requested that he would pour everything into this album, run through the 20th anniversary year with all his might, and then leave the band. The members and staff had many discussions about this, but Kanazawa was adamant that he had given his all to the band over the past 20 years, and came to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue as a band, so the decision was made to suspend activities.
From now on, each of the three members will embark on a new path. To be honest, at this point, we don’t know if that path will lead to a place called Fujifabric, or if we will be able to find it in our future activities. For now, we would like to give our all to each and every one of our remaining live shows and songs.
Up until now, we have repeatedly questioned ourselves about our mission to protect Fujifabric, and have worked with the belief that “we are a band that will never break up.” We are very sorry that this decision will disappoint our fans.
I hope you will accept this.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the fans who have shown so much love and support to Fujifabric, to the media all over the country, and to all the artists who have saved the band so many times.
As of now, it has not been decided what the members will do after February of next year, but we hope you will continue to support them warmly as they take their next steps.

■What is Fujifabric?
Formed in 2000 with Masahiko Shimura at the center. Shimura passed away suddenly in 2009, and the band began in earnest in the summer of 2011 with a new lineup of Soichiro Yamauchi (vocals, guitar), Daisuke Kanazawa (keyboards), and Shinichi Kato (bass). They are one of the most unique rock bands on the scene, with a perfect blend of lyricism, universality, and perversion.
They have released such hits as “Galaxy,” “Scarlet Sunset,” and “Everything for the Youth,” and in 2010, the song “BEAT at Dawn” from their album “MUSIC” was used as the theme song for the TV drama version of “Moteki” (2010) and the opening theme for the film version (2011).
He has also sung the theme songs for numerous anime series, including “Tsuritama,” “Space Brothers,” “Silver Spoon,” “Ao Haru Ride,” and “Magi: Adventure of Sinbad.”
The single “Holiday in Cannes feat. Yamada Takayuki” features actor Yamada Takayuki on vocals, and has attracted attention for its fast-paced, powerful, and impressive sound and impactful lyrics.
In February 2024, they will release their 12th album, “PORTRAIT”, and in April they will hold the “Fujifabric 20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE”, entitled “20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA 2024 “NOW IS”. In August they will hold the “20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE at TOKYO GARDEN THEATER 2024 “THE BEAT MOMENT”, and in November they will hold the “20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE at OSAKA-JO HALL 2024 “Non-Fiction”.
