The music video for Yumi Matsutoya’s charity single “acacia” is complete! Pre-release in Ishikawa

The music video for “acacia”, a track from Yumi Matsutoya’s charity single “acacia / Haru yo, Koi (Nina Kraviz Remix)”, has been completed. It will be released in advance in Ishikawa Prefecture on July 4th.

“acacia” is a track from the 31st original album “acacia” released in 2001. It was written after the artist was moved by the sight of the blooming acacia trees in Uchinada-machi, Kahoku-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture. The charity single “acacia / Haru yo, Koi (Nina Kraviz Remix)” was released on May 29th, with the desire to deliver this song, which was inspired by the powerful blooming acacia, once again.

This time, the music video was produced with the desire to “support the recovery from the Noto Peninsula earthquake” and “have many people remember the beautiful scenery of Noto.”

The music video tells the story of a boy who jumps out of a picture book and sets off on a journey, following the places that he remembers in Noto, guided by a girl, until he arrives at a beautiful landscape he had forgotten. It is a fantasy based on hand-drawn illustrations, and actually depicts the Rokkozaki Lighthouse (also known as the Smoke Signal Lighthouse) in Suzu City, Noto, Keta Taisha Shrine (Hakui City), and an elementary school in Hakui City.

To deliver the completed music video to the people of Ishikawa Prefecture, it will be premiered at the talk event “Hasegawa Yuko: Future Preparation Room Vol. 7: The Future of Music and Art – An Ecology of Empathy Connected by Art” to be held at the Theater 21 of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Ishikawa from July 4th. Yumi Matsutoya will also be appearing as a guest.

Also, starting from July 5th, with the cooperation of Ishikawa Prefecture, the video will be broadcast in approximately 50 locations within Ishikawa Prefecture, including the Kanazawa Station concourse, the Ishikawa Prefecture Kanazawa Tourist Information Center (inside Kanazawa Station), and the Kanazawa Central Tourist Information Center.

The music video will then be made public on Matsutoya Yumi’s official YouTube channel from August 1st.

■ Comment from Yumi Matsutoya
The Noto Peninsula is the letter “F” of the alphabet.
Forever, Friends, Furusato,

Even if the visible form is lost, nothing can take away the hometown and loved ones that are engraved in our hearts.

No matter how painful it is now,
Remember that the place where you were raised is a gentle and beautiful environment.

Because I will never forget either.
