■ “Let’s give our blessings and cheers to these wonderful flowers of passion! I hope this song can help you do just that.” (MISIA)
In preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will begin on July 26th, MISIA’s new song “Fleur de la Passion” has been chosen as the athlete support song for the Nippon Television Network.
The song begins with an intro that evokes the anticipation of the opening of the festival, and its melody evokes the grandeur and solemnity of the Olympics, “Fleur de la Passion.” The song will add color to the Paris Games, which will be the first Summer Games to be held with spectators in eight years since the Rio Games.
In addition, the song will be introduced during the “Japan Men’s National Basketball Team Game,” which will be broadcast live on Nippon Television from 7:00 p.m. on July 5th, and MISIA’s “Fleur de la Passion” will be performed on television for the first time on “THE MUSIC DAY 2024,” which will be broadcast on Nippon Television on July 6th.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will open on July 26th (local time) and run until August 11th. 329 events in 32 sports will be held.
■Comment from MISIA
The Olympics are made possible by the passion of many people.Of course, there are athletes who strive to be faster, higher and stronger,
People who support them, encourage them, and organize the events. The Olympic Games were passionately proposed by French educator Pierre de Coubertin, with a desire for peace, and the first Olympic Games were held in 1896.
For over 100 years, people from all over the world have gathered, met, deepened mutual understanding,
They stepped into a new, unknown world, with the aim of competing rather than fighting, growing as people, and working towards a better society. The passion to achieve this peace is also great.
The Olympics is the place where all that passion can be unleashed.
We created this song as a prayer for peace and with the hope that all athletes will be able to unleash their passion for their sport.
This will be the first Summer Olympics to feature spectators in eight years.
I hope that all the players will be showered with congratulations and cheers this time.“Fleurs de la Passion” means “flowers of passion” in French.
Let’s give our blessings and cheers to these wonderful flowers of passion! I hope this song will help you do just that.
