XG to release second mini album! First song "SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT" also available

■ “SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT” is a song with a retro feel based on garage rhythm.

On July 8th, XG suddenly posted an image on their social media accounts showing a ray of light between a sea of clouds and the sun with the caption “XG 2nd Mini Album Set for late 2024,” announcing that they will be releasing their second mini album within the year.

Then on July 9th, it was announced that the first pre-release track from the second mini-album, “SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT”, would be released digitally on July 26th.

“SOMETHING AIN’T RIGHT” is a retro-style song based on garage rhythm, with an addictive refrain that makes use of the individuality of each of the seven XG members, and a variety of sounds hidden in minimalism. In addition, JAKOPS (SIMON JUNHO PARK), the representative and general producer of XGALX, produced the song himself, and added XG’s originality to the up-tempo track reminiscent of the 90s, expressing “music that makes everyone want to dance, regardless of age or gender.”

The jacket photo, which was released at the same time, has a different style from the previous work “WOKE UP”, with a colorful and pop design, and is full of the personalities of the seven members, making it a jacket photo that is full of XG’s unique style.

XG’s 5th single “WOKE UP” music video, released on May 21, ranked first on the US YouTube Trending Chart. In addition, the music video topped the Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan chart, which ranks the most popular Japanese songs around the world, for five consecutive weeks. They continue to break new records and achieve great feats with each release.

On July 6th, they made their first appearance on Nippon Television’s “THE MUSIC DAY” and performed their 5th single “WOKE UP” and “SHOOTING STAR”, which was released in January 2023 and was also used as a Spotify brand commercial song. “SHOOTING STAR” is one of XG’s most popular songs among fans, and this performance, which was their first performance on a Japanese television program, also caused a huge response on social media, with XG’s Wikipedia page recording the highest number of hits in Japan that day.

XG is currently on their first world tour, “The first HOWL,” and will begin their overseas tour with a performance in Seoul on July 11th.
