Airi Matsui will appear in the drama “Saionji-san Doesn’t Do Housework” as the deceased wife that Hokuto Matsumura, played by Kusumi, still thinks about.

■In episode 1, Rui, played by Matsui Airi, appears in a scene where Kusumi reminisces about BBQs from his school days and his everyday life!

The first episode of the TBS Tuesday drama “Saionji-san Doesn’t Do Housework” aired on July 9th, and it was revealed that Matsui Airi will be appearing in the series.

Based on the comic of the same name by Hiura Satoru, this drama is a heartwarming love comedy that considers “What is happiness? What is a family?” through the unusual cohabitation of the main character, Nishizonji-san (Matsumoto Wakana), who never does any housework, and a younger, troubled single father, Kusumi (Matsumura Hokuto / SixTONES), and his daughter.

In this film, Airi Matsui plays Kusumi’s late wife, Rui Kusumi. She married Kusumi, whom she had been dating since their school days, and had a daughter, Luca, and lived happily ever after, but she passed away a year ago.

In the first episode, Rui appears in a scene where Kusumi reminisces about the BBQs he had when he was a student and his everyday life. It shows how Kusumi is still thinking about Rui, who has passed away.

Kusumi is always unsociable and you never know what he’s thinking, but when he thinks of Rui, he smiles kindly. Pay attention to the scenes of Kusumi, Rui, and Ruka, who spend a short but happy time together.

■ Episode 2 Synopsis
On impulse, Saionji (Matsumoto Wakana) decides to let the Kusumi family live in the rented space in her home.
Kusumi (Hokuto Matsumura) was carried away by the momentum and ended up saying “Yes,” but he started to be abnormally considerate of Saionji, saying, “It’s weird to be so dependent on someone who’s not even family!” Saionji felt uncomfortable with Kusumi’s overly stubborn attitude… Meanwhile, late at night, Kusumi was heading somewhere with her daughter Luca (Eima Kurata) in her arms. Saionji saw this and decided to secretly follow her. There, Saionji witnessed the difficulties of housework and childcare and couldn’t help but make a suggestion.
