The ending song is the famous SEKAI NO OWARI song “Present”! Special video of the movie “Inside Out 2” released

A special music clip for the movie “Inside Out 2,” which features the ending song “Present” by SEKAI NO OWARI, has been released.

“Inside Out 2” is set in the world of emotions and is produced by Pixar, the production studio that has won the most Academy Awards(R) for Best Animated Feature. It was released in the United States and other countries around the world on June 14th, ahead of Japan, and exceeded $1 billion in global box office revenue in just 19 days. Only seven films have exceeded $1 billion since the COVID-19 pandemic, including “Top Gun: Maverick” and “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” making this a literal megahit.

Japan is the only country in the world where “Inside Out 2” was allowed to use a song other than the original for the ending song.

Director Kelsey Mann praised the band, saying, “SEKAI NO OWARI’s ‘Present’ is the perfect ending song for Inside Out 2! The most important message we wanted to convey to audiences through this film was to love yourself, including your imperfections, and that all of your feelings will one day become treasures. SEKAI NO OWARI’s song perfectly embodies that important message of the film. I’m so grateful that they created a song that touches my heart so deeply and makes me feel so positive, and I can’t wait for Japanese audiences to hear ‘Present’ at the end of Inside Out 2.”

Meanwhile, Nakajin of SEKAI NO OWARI commented that he was surprised that their song was chosen for the Japanese ending song, saying, “They chose ‘Present’. They knew ‘Present’.” Saori expressed her joy, saying, “I had decided that I would definitely go see ‘Inside Out 2’. It was my first experience to have our song become the ending song for that movie, so I screamed.”

In the special music clip released, Fukase gently and powerfully sings “Present,” depicting the storm of emotions brewing inside the head of Riley, a hardworking girl about to enter high school.

Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Anger have been watching over Riley’s happiness since she was a child, but then new adult emotions appear: Fear, Good, Darling, and Embarrassment. They say, “Riley doesn’t need Joy anymore,” and banish Joy from the control center that controls her emotions. The harder Riley tries, the more she misses her best friend, doesn’t do well in club activities, and is confused by the new self she is. The rampage of the “adult emotions” that have taken over control of Riley’s emotions in place of Joy causes a storm of emotions, and Riley loses her sense of self…

As Riley begins to feel anxious when comparing herself to others and feeling like she’s no good, and is unable to contain her overflowing emotions, the gentle lyrics “It’s okay, I won’t let you be alone” gently comfort her and warm her heart, as if Joy were reaching out a helping hand and saying “It’s okay, Riley.”

After watching the video, Nakajin commented, “In the previous film, I thought about my past and thought that ‘that time’ was ‘Riley now’. In this film, new emotions are born, and I think it’s a film that makes you look forward to seeing how your life will link to it this time.” Be sure to enjoy the movie “Inside Out 2” at the theater, where the Japanese version of the end song will gently wrap you up.

■SEKAI NO OWARI members’ inner thoughts revealed!?
An officially Pixar-approved illustration has been released, depicting the emotions inside the heads of the members of SEKAI NO OWARI. Each member’s profile silhouette features a character expressing a different emotion: Fukase is happy, Nakajin is sad, Saori is angry, and DJ LOVE is embarrassed.

The following exchange took place among the members who saw the illustration:

Fukase: (Looking at the illustration of himself expressed with joy) You might not think so, but this is my natural state.
Nakajin: It’s joyful to wake up in the morning.
Saori: (Looking at her nauseous expression) I think it suited me perfectly.
Fukase: I wonder what Saori is thinking… I think she’s angry after all. She’s pissed or angry (laughs).

When we become adults, does joy disappear? “Inside Out 2” is waiting for the most “touching and tender ending” in Pixar history. Let’s look forward to its release.
