The Reiwa Bon Odori will be decided with this song!? Ikoma Rina's "TOKYO DANCE -Dai Tokyo Ondo-" music video released

Ikoma Rina has released the music video for her digital single “TOKYO DANCE -Dai Tokyo Ondo-“, which was released on July 3rd. Behind-the-scenes shots from the shoot have also been uploaded.

Ikoma Rina, who has continued to work as an actress since graduating from Nogizaka46, released this song under the name RINA IKOMA, and it was produced as part of a collaborative project between Asahi Soft Drinks’ “Wilkinson” and a public bath.

The original song, “Dai Tokyo Ondo,” was planned and produced as a dance song for the 15th anniversary of the launch of Tokyo 12 Channel (now TV Tokyo) in 1979. Composed by People’s Honor Award-winning composer Endo Minoru, it is a famous Showa era song that has been sung by many legendary singers, including Hashi Yukio and Misora Hibari, and is known to a wide range of generations as a popular Bon Odori song.

“Dai Tokyo Ondo” has been reborn as a hyper-pop dance tune perfect for summer, and has been revived as a catchy song that elevates the Bon Odori dance to the Bon Dance stage.

The music video has themes of “Tokyo,” “Japan,” “festival,” and “summer,” and is created with a pop and stylish world view of colorful CG and light, exploding with Ikoma Rina’s unparalleled cuteness and freshness.

GROUNDRIDDIM participated in this work. The director is tk, who has worked on many videos for musicians including BAD HOP’s Budokan opening video and CYPRUS. The CG was handled by DotINK, led by Daiki Miyama.

This song is likely to become a standard for the Reiwa Bon Odori festival starting in 2024.
