"Last Mile x Unnatural x MIU404 Shared Universe History PV" featuring Kenshi Yonezu's "Lemon," "Kanden," and "Garakata" has been released

A video titled “The Last Mile x Unnatural x MIU404 Shared Universe History PV” has been released on the Toho MOVIE channel on YouTube.

The special video released this time is about 3 minutes long, and uses many famous scenes from each work, including the theme song “Lemon” from the drama “Unnatural”, the theme song “Kanden” from the drama “MIU404”, and the theme song “Garakuta” from the movie “The Last Mile” by Kenshi Yonezu. The previously unreleased part of the theme song “Garakuta” from “The Last Mile” was also shown for the first time.

The film “The Last Mile,” which will be released on August 23rd, is a completely original film whose story unfolds in the same world (shared universe) as the TV dramas “Unnatural” (2018) and “MIU404” (2020).

This non-stop suspense entertainment stars Mitsushima Hikari as Funato Erena, the director of the Kanto center of a shopping site, and Okada Masaki as Nashimoto Akira, as they confront a series of bombings that begin on the eve of Black Friday in November. In addition to talented cast members such as Abe Sadao, the film also features 16 actors in total, including members of the “UDI Lab” from “Unnatural” including Ishihara Satomi, and members of the “4th Mobile Investigation Unit” including Ayano Go and Hoshino Gen from “MIU404”.

The director is Ayuko Tsukahara, who has directed many classic dramas such as “Unnatural,” “MIU404,” and “Saiai,” and continues to capture the hearts of viewers with her careful yet bold direction. The screenplay is written by Akiko Nogi, who won the 44th Japan Academy Award for Best Screenplay for “Unnatural,” “MIU404,” “Fence,” and the movie “Voice of Sin” (2020).

In the special video released this time, many nostalgic scenes are shown along with the theme song, such as the line from the drama “Unnatural” where Mikoto (Ishihara Satomi) and Rokuro (Kubota Masataka) express their belief that “forensic medicine is a job for the future,” and the line from the drama “MIU404” where Ibuki (Ayano Go) sheds tears as he calls the bloodied Shima (Hoshino Gen) “partner,” showing the strong bond between them. The thrilling story and famous scenes that created the emotions are brought back to life along with their history.

And these worlds finally connect in the movie “The Last Mile.” A series of suspicious characters appear, and it is hard to imagine how the story will unfold. The footage is sure to raise expectations.

The theme song “Garakuta” will be included in Kenshi Yonezu’s sixth album “LOST CORNER,” which will be released on August 21. In addition, the nationwide live tour “Kenshi Yonezu 2025 TOUR / JUNK” will be held from January 2025.
