■Aoshima-kun’s destructive power is unstoppable tonight! “I don’t want to let go of such a wonderful girlfriend so easily.”
The second episode of TV Asahi’s Oshidora Saturday drama “Aoshima-kun is mean,” starring Watanabe Shota (Snow Man) and Nakamura Anne, will be broadcast from 11pm on July 13th.
Based on the manga of the same name by Yoshii Yuu, this work is a romantic comedy that depicts the “love pact” that begins with a small lie between Aoshima Mizuki (Watanabe), a younger, fasting guy who has no interest in romance, and Katsuragi Yukino (Nakamura), a 35-year-old dried-fish girl who has given up on romance.
In the first episode, which aired on July 6th, Aoshima, the fake younger boyfriend, shows off his meanness in full force as he suddenly gets close to Yukino and asks, “Shall we create a fait accompli?”, amused by the way she becomes flustered, and secretly holds her hand in the elevator so that no one notices.
The first episode was filled with one heart-pounding scene after another, and social media was flooded with happy comments such as “I can’t stop grinning,” “I was in agony during the elevator scene,” “The first episode left an incredible impression,” “I was so overwhelmed with excitement that I couldn’t hold my breath,” and “It was the best episode ever, it made me so happy.”
The best part was the “birthday kiss.” Just before her 35th birthday, Aoshima appeared while Yukino was working overtime and suddenly kissed her at exactly midnight, saying “Happy birthday.” The climax of the first episode caused a huge stir, trending at number one worldwide on X (formerly Twitter), with comments such as “The best kiss,” “This way to celebrate is just too good,” “It’s so powerful,” and “There are so many heart-fluttering situations that girls all over the world want to experience at least once, it’s like a feast.”
There were many comments saying, “I’ll be back for more!” and the number of views for the first episode on catch-up streaming exceeded 1.82 million, tying the fastest number of views for an episode in the Oshidora slot in history (calculated by Video Research, period: July 7th to July 11th). It also ranked first in TVer’s overall rankings, making for a great start with a storm of heart-pounding moments from the very first episode.
■How 35-year-old dried fish girl Yukino spends her holidays revealed!
The mean Aoshima-kun continues to be mischievous in the second episode aired on July 13th. Having been away from love for a while, Yukino is shocked by the sudden “birthday kiss” and asks, “Why don’t we stop pretending to be dating?” However, Aoshima flatly refuses, saying, “I don’t want to let go of such a wonderful girlfriend so easily.” In contrast to Aoshima, who is younger but has a lot of composure, Yukino is just flustered…
Comments included, “Younger men are scary (lol)!” in response to Aoshima’s mean behavior as he manipulates Yukino, and the contrast between his hoodie and suit. Other comments included, “I’m the same age as Yukino, so I could relate to a lot of her actions and words and before I knew it, I was seeing myself in her”, “I can really relate to her dried fish style at home”, “If a younger man manipulated me like that, I’d be smiling and excited the whole time”, and “I’m so happy that they’re Aoshima and Yukino”. Many people were smitten by the age gap “pact love” between Aoshima and Yukino.
Meanwhile, the story is also entering a three-day weekend. Yukino’s close friend and colleague, Takako Suzuki (Ryoko Kobayashi), is on a trip with her husband, and her juniors, Shinji Tanizaki (Junki Tozuka) and Rika Kimura (Manatsu Akimoto), also seem to have a packed schedule.
Yukino decides to go to a hot spring by herself, but she searches for a place, but it’s fully booked. She has no choice but to clean up, binge watch a drama, and go outside a little, so she exercises on the balcony. Before she knows it, it’s the last day of the holidays.
It’s inevitable that you will empathize even more with Yukino’s anxious state, saying, “I haven’t gone anywhere or spoken to anyone for three whole days!”
■ Don’t miss the last second! Aoshima & Yukino’s chance date leads to a shocking development!?
Finally going out at the end of her long weekend, Yukino heads to her favorite izakaya, “Manraitei.” Even though she’s drinking alone, for some reason all she can think about is Aoshima. Then, by chance, Aoshima shows up after finishing work on his day off. The two slowly get to know each other and have a good time. Then, Aoshima says, “I’m glad I met you today, Yukino,” and asks Yukino if she’ll keep him company for a little while…
What upsets Yukino, who is currently withdrawing from romance, is Aoshima’s mean but always straightforward words.
On the last day of the holidays, the two of them have suddenly become closer, but an even more shocking development awaits them. Just like the first episode, this one will keep you glued to the screen until the very end.
And ahead of the broadcast, new photos of the two were released. What new developments await the two tonight? Don’t miss the second episode, which will air on July 13th.
