Nissy, also known as Nishijima Takahiro, reported on his Instagram and official website that he had delivered relief supplies to Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which was hit by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.

Nissy also visited Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture in March to report on volunteer activities and material support, making this his second visit to the city.

It was reported that this time a Hiace vehicle and relief supplies were delivered thanks to donations from visitors who collected in the “2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund” donation boxes that were set up at each venue of the “10th Anniversary LIVE VIEWING TOUR 2023 -Nissy Meets You-“.

“If we had vehicles that could be used to transport belongings from damaged homes, deliver relief supplies, and also to guide volunteers to the disaster-stricken areas, we would be able to accommodate more volunteers, but at the moment there are not enough vehicles for the number of participants, and we heard that they are expensive and therefore difficult to purchase, so we decided to donate a Hiace,” he explained the reason for donating the Hiace.

Nissy, who delivered relief supplies in the Hiace, explained the situation in the disaster-stricken areas, which still need long-term support for recovery and reconstruction, saying, “Even now, six months after the Noto Peninsula earthquake, there are areas without electricity or water, and completely destroyed houses line the roads, and demolition of damaged houses is still ongoing, including around the beaches.” He also mentioned the tourism industry, saying, “The tourism industry has also been severely affected by the earthquake, with the number of tourists decreasing, and sales at restaurants and tourism businesses in Ishikawa Prefecture plummeting.”

Nissy enjoyed the spectacular Shiroyone Senmaida rice terraces, a sight representative of Noto’s rural mountains and seas, as well as corn harvested that morning from Ishikawa Prefecture, which he purchased at a local supermarket. He said, “Visiting areas that were hit hard by the damage is a burden on the local area, but in order for the town to recover, regional revitalization through tourism is also necessary, and this is a challenge.” He went on to speak about regional revitalization through tourism, saying, “Tourist destinations are gradually returning to their former appearance, and local people have said that they would like people from outside Ishikawa to visit. There are many forms of support, so I hope that the circle of support will expand even just a little.” He also spoke about regional revitalization through tourism.
