■ “I think we’ve become like true friends” (JO1 Kawanishi Takumi)

The movie “Run for Money THE MOVIE”, starring JO1’s Takumi Kawanishi, Shoya Kimata, Aomi Kinjo, FANTASTICS’ Taiki Sato, Sota Nakajima, and Reiya Seguchi as the main cast, will be released nationwide on July 19th. The “Making of PV ~Youth Edition~” of the movie has been released.

The main characters of this work are six young men named Yamato (Kawanishi), Eijiro (Nakajima), Ken (Kimata), Yugo (Kinjo), Riku (Seguchi), and Joji (Sato), who spent their youth together as friendly rivals on the track and field team.

The video shows the six main actors, who play track and field club members who spent their youth together in high school, deepening their bonds just like in the movie after going through the rigorous filming. It’s the best, it really feels like we’re a team. I’m so happy that we’ve become so close. As Kawanishi recalls, the making-of footage is impressive for its smiles as they chat away, even during their free time.

The film follows six young men with different thoughts and ambitions who decide to take part in “Run for Money,” but who end up getting caught up in a “life-threatening death game,” and how they regain their old friendship. In an extreme situation where they will be “annihilated” if they are caught, the actors are required to perform difficult acting that pushes them to the limits both physically and mentally. Kimata can be seen honestly saying, “Acting is difficult…everyone is doing their best,” as he watches over the other cast members, while Sato reminisces, saying, “Yamato (Kawanishi, who plays the role) was outstanding, so I thought it was good that I was able to do that scene with Takumi.”

From these words filled with respect for each other, you can feel the “bond” between them as they strive to hone their skills. On the other hand, from the expressions of fulfillment that each of them looks back on the filming with deep emotion, you can see that they put their whole heart and soul into this film, even though they sometimes struggled and hesitated because of the differences from their usual group activities.

Furthermore, at the end of the video, Kawanishi is seen smiling and saying, “I think (the six main cast members) have become like true friends,” making the making-of video even more exciting for the human drama and tale of friendship woven by these six unique characters.

This film is the result of a luxurious collaboration between JO1 and FANTASTICS, two of the most popular global boy bands of the moment. It’s their first time acting together, and the film’s outstanding teamwork will be captivating, so be sure to check out the outcome of the “Ultimate Death Game” as well as the heartwarming story.
