It has been announced that the film “Kaguya-sama: Love is War – The Geniuses’ War of Love and Brains – Final”, starring Hirano Sho and Hashimoto Kanna, will be broadcast on TBS from 9pm on July 22nd.

The manga “Kaguya-sama: Love is War – The Geniuses’ War of Love and Brains” by Akasaka Aka, who is also the author of “Oshi no Ko”, is a popular romantic comedy that was serialized in Shueisha’s “Weekly Young Jump” for about seven and a half years. It is known as a huge hit that has gained tremendous support and satisfaction, with three anime series broadcasted and a theatrical anime also released.

The first live-action film adaptation was released in September 2019 as the first co-starring work between Hirano Sho and Hashimoto Kanna, and was a huge hit, drawing audiences of all ages, both men and women, with a box office revenue of 2.24 billion yen and an audience of over 1.8 million. Then, two years later in August, the long-awaited sequel, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – Final, was released and became a hot topic. This hugely successful sequel and final battle will be broadcast on terrestrial television for the first time.

In addition to the lead actor Hirano and heroine Hashimoto, the film sees the continuation of the previous series of unique and charming cast members such as Sano Hayato, Ikema Natsumi, Asakawa Rina, Hotta Mayu, Yuutaro, Takashima Masahiro, and Sato Jiro.

Additionally, Kageyama Yuka, who is making her film debut as an actress, will play Iino Miko, the student council’s accounting auditor. Fukuhara Haruka, who also voiced the anime version, will play Koyasu Tsubame, the school’s Madonna. Additionally, Itabashi Shunya will play Kazeno, the cheerleading squad leader, and Takahashi Fumiya, who is very popular right now, will play Ogino Kou, a classmate of Ishigami, played by Sano Hayato, from his junior high school days.

The film is directed by Kawai Hayato, who directed “Cheer☆Dance: The True Story of High School Girls Who Conquered the United States with Cheerleading,” and the screenplay is written by Tokunaga Yuichi, who also wrote “Fly Me to the Saitama.” The film skillfully depicts the unique worldview of a “battle of wits in love.”

In this broadcast, the student council members Hirano, Hashimoto, Sano, Asakawa, and Kageyama will all dance to the theme song “Love Falls in the Moonlight” (King & Prince), which was a hot topic when the movie was released, and the special edited version will be released for the first time on terrestrial TV!
