■Yagi Yusei, who is 180cm tall, is now 1/10th his size, at 15cm!
The drama “Minami-kun ga Koibito !?” (TV Asahi), starring Iinuma Ai and Yagi Yusei (FANTASTICS), will start on July 16th (every Tuesday from 9pm).
Based on the classic work Minami-kun’s Lover (original story by Uchida Shungiku/published by Seirinkogeisha), which has been adapted for the screen many times, this time it has been adapted for the first time into a “gender-reversed version.”
The script is written by Okada Yoshikazu, who also wrote the script for Minami-kun no Koibito (starring Takahashi Yumiko and Takeda Shinji), which aired on TV Asahi in 1994.
The innovative setting in which Minami-kun, played by Yagi, who is 180 cm tall, shrinks to the size of a palm and measures 15 cm, and this heartwarming home love comedy will once again create a Minami-kun whirlwind across Japan this summer.
■ Episode 1 Synopsis
Horikiri Chiyomi (Iinuma Ai), who lives in a town close to the Shonan sea, is now taking part in the final prefectural basketball tournament preliminaries of her high school life. With her mother Kaede (Kimura Yoshino), grandmother Yuriko (Kaga Mariko), her father Shintaro (Takeda Shinji) and her brother Takuma (Banke Tentaka) watching over her, Chiyomi, who has always been a reserve player, finally gets a chance to play. At that moment, her childhood friend, her beloved, and the basketball star Minami Hiroyuki (Yagi Yusei), rushes to the gymnasium to cheer her on.
Unfortunately, she lost the match, and even though she was feeling refreshed, she still had a little regret. Minami-kun comforted and encouraged her… Chiyomi felt a little uneasy about Minami-kun, who was always perfect.
Soon after, Minami-kun’s university basketball team is having a game. Chiyomi and Minami-kun, who are going to cheer them on, make a promise after the game.
And then the day of the match arrived. Before the match started, Chiyomi visited the gym and saw Minami-kun having a friendly conversation with the basketball club coach, Sagawa Misuzu (Takeda Reina). Chiyomi felt like she couldn’t fit in and felt left out throughout the match. With mixed feelings, Chiyomi headed to the meeting place with Minami-kun as promised, but for some reason, Minami-kun never showed up no matter how long she waited…
