Yuzu re-records their major debut single “Natsuiro” for the first time in 26 years! It will also be used as an insert song for the drama “Minami-kun ga Koibito !?”

■A re-recorded version of “Natsuiro” will be aired as a surprise on the first broadcast of “Minami-kun ga Koibito !?”

Yuzu has re-recorded their signature song, “Natsuiro,” a major single released in 1998, for the first time in about 26 years. It will be released digitally on July 17th as “Natsuiro (Re-recorded).”

It has also been decided that this song will be used as an insert song for the TV Asahi drama “Minami-kun ga Koibito !?” which began airing on July 16th.

“Natsuiro,” written and composed by Yuujin Kitagawa, is a song that Yuzu performed in street live shows before their major debut, and has been performed almost every live show since their debut. It has become a staple song at live shows and is synonymous with “summer songs” in Japan, and is still loved by people of all generations even 26 years after its release.

Recently, the team behind the TV drama Minami-kun ga Koibito !?, for which Yuzu’s new song “Fusen Keishuu” is the theme song, approached Yuzu, asking if they could use “Natsuiro” as an insert song in the drama.

After accepting the request, the idea was born of re-recording “Natsuiro” to match the Reiwa era and the drama, and the decision was made to re-record it after 26 years. The re-recorded version of “Natsuiro” was aired as a surprise on the first broadcast of “Minami-kun ga Koibito!?” on July 16th.

“Natsuiro (Re-recorded)” was arranged by Tomiyo. While retaining the nostalgia and freshness of the original song, it was recorded with a more familiar sound and string composition, and the BPM was also changed. Both Yuujin Kitagawa and Koji Iwasawa re-recorded the entire song, and a new “Natsuiro” was born that will be sung for a long time to come.

Excluding projects such as acoustic arrangements and covers, this will be the first time in Yuzu’s career that they have released re-recorded songs.

“Natsuiro (Re-recorded)” will be available for streaming and download on major sites from midnight on July 17. Apple Music also supports spatial audio, which allows you to listen to the song in a more three-dimensional sound.

The artwork for the digital cover, which pays homage to the cover of the first single, “Natsuiro,” has also been released.
