Hana Hope's new song "Summertime Blues" will be released digitally! Also look out for the collaboration with Shappo

Hana Hope has announced that she will release her new song, “Summertime Blues,” as a digital single on August 7th.

“Summertime Blues” is based on a track arranged by TOM, a sound producer who has worked on arrangements and songs for many artists including SIRUP, Tokimeki Records, and Miliyah Kato, and is performed by the instrumental band Shappo, consisting of Oto Fukuhara (Gu, etc.) and Yuta Hosono (Ba, etc.), who debuted at the end of 2023 from Kakubarizm, a music label/management company known for good music.

The sound is sublimated into a danceable yet chill summer tune, and the lyrics, which feature a pleasant mix of Japanese and English and describe a fleeting summer love, will take listeners back to their own “summer of the same name,” lightly coloring the scorching hot summer.

This will be the first time that Hosono Yuta and Hana Hope have performed together in about five years since the tribute concert “Yellow Magic Children – The Genes of YMO 40 Years Later” held in 2019 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the formation of YMO. Coincidentally, the collaboration between these two next-generation groups, Shappo and Hana Hope, who made their debuts in 2023, respectively, is also worth keeping an eye on.

The artist photos, jacket, and music video creative were produced by Hypebae Japan, a media outlet for women run by Hypebeast Japan, which provides the latest in street fashion, art, design, and music.

New artist photos and jackets have also been released. Julie Giesen served as the video director and overall director, and Takako Noel was in charge of stills, resulting in a highbrow creative style unique to “Hypebae”. The MV will be posted on Hana Hope’s SNS in the future as the full release approaches.

Hana Hope will also hold a two-man live with Abe Fuyumi at WALL & WALL in Tokyo on August 11th. Anticipation is building for the new song debut.
