On August 14th, the “Paripi Kongming” Public Recording Special Live!! will be held at the Tokyo Garden Theater in Tokyo.
“Paripi Kongming,” a musical youth comedy starring Mukai Osamu, was broadcast in Fuji TV’s Wednesday 10pm drama slot in the fall of 2023. The story is a success story in which Zhuge Kongming (Mukai Osamu), a genius military strategist from the Three Kingdoms period in China, is reincarnated in his younger years in modern-day Shibuya and devises magical strategies for an aspiring amateur singer, Tsukimi Eiko (Kamishiraishi Moka), and breaks down the walls that stand in her way like a military strategist, leading her to success.
The original work is a popular comic currently being serialized in “Young Magazine” (Kodansha), which has a total circulation of over 2.3 million copies. When the drama was broadcast last year, the strong personalities of the characters and the authentic live performance scenes were a hot topic. This summer, the work will be revived in the form of a “publicly recorded special live performance.”
The familiar cast will be reuniting, including Mukai, who plays the main character Zhuge Liang, Kamishiraishi who plays Eiko, Sugawara Koharu who plays Mia Iriomote, and Sekiguchi Mandy who plays Maezono Keiji.
In addition to performing new songs, there will also be appearances by a host of impressive guests, including popular dance groups and global artists.
This live performance is a special one that will be held for the filming of a video work, and details will be announced at a later date. Details of the special guests will also be announced on the official SNS at a later date.

Actually, when I was talking with the drama producer after we finished filming the drama series, we were joking about how we could have a festival if we had all these members who were also artists, including Kamishiraishi-san, and it really turned out like this (laughs). In addition to the members who have appeared in the drama series before, there are many new artists and performers who will be appearing this time. If you watch it, you will be surprised to see some who will be saying, “Oh! It’s that group!” There are also some international performers. In any case, there will be artists who will be able to enjoy both their eyes and their ears with music and performances of various genres, so I hope you will come thinking of it as a festival.
