SUPER EIGHT starts pre-release distribution of new song “Eighdays” written by sumika’s Kenta Kataoka



■ The new song “Eighdays” has lyrics that beautifully depict the history of SUPER EIGHT.

SUPER EIGHT has started pre-release distribution of the song “Eighdays” from their 14th album “SUPER EIGHT,” which will be released on July 31st.

“Eighdays,” which was first performed on Nippon Television’s “THE MUSIC DAY,” was written by Kenta Kataoka of sumika. It is a song that depicts the 20-year journey of SUPER EIGHT since their debut, which has been full of ups and downs, and the future they will embark on while carrying those ups and downs.

After their performance on television, the familiar melody and lyrics that beautifully portrayed the band’s history became a hot topic on social media, and in response to fan expectations, it was decided to release SUPER EIGHT’s first digital song early.

With less than two weeks to go until the release of the new album “SUPER EIGHT,” the lineup includes a wide range of contributors, from legends to up-and-coming artists, including Tsunku♂, Okamura Yasuyuki, Yamauchi Soichiro (Fujifabric), asmi, as well as creators who have produced a number of outstanding works to date, such as Tsutaya Koichi, THE Inazuma Sentai, MONJOE, Pecori, and SHUN.

This is SUPER EIGHT’s debut work and also a memorable work commemorating the group’s 20th anniversary, and it is an album that is typical of them, enjoying music in every direction.
