jo0ji’s new song “Nukui” featured in Coca-Cola’s “Kettle of Barley Tea” web video

■Popular comedian Mayurika’s Nakatani appears in the web video “Thoughts for Home”. He also did the illustrations!

“Nukui,” a new song by jo0ji, an artist from Tottori Prefecture, has been chosen to be featured in the “Thoughts for Home” web video for Coca-Cola System’s “Kettle of Barley Tea from Sokenbicha” (hereinafter “Kettle of Barley Tea”)

The online video has been available on YouTube since July 18th, and features popular comedian Mayurika’s Nakatani, who also provided the illustrations. Nakatani draws an episode from her own mother.

The web video “Thoughts about Home” features casual conversations from everyday life that bring thoughts to his hometown, and looks back on memories with his family from his childhood to when he moved to Tokyo, through illustrations drawn by Nakatani, an award-winning artist with aspirations of becoming a professional manga artist.

When Nakatani is having a hard time or when she is having fun, her mother and her family home are always there to support her. This is an original story that combines memories of the warmth of her family and mother with the experience of drinking “Kettle of Barley Tea,” which tastes like barley tea carefully boiled in a kettle, to nourish the soul.

And jo0ji’s “Nukui” has a nostalgic, warm melody and singing voice, and lyrics that fit the story, expressing the scene in the video more delicately. It is a heartwarming piece.

“Nukui” is scheduled to be released digitally on August 7th.
