Kenshi Yonezu’s sixth album “LOST CORNER,” to be released on August 21st, will be released in North America (Milan Records, a subsidiary of Masterworks within major American label Sony Music), Taiwan (Sony Music Taiwan), and Hong Kong (Sony Music Hong Kong) on August 23rd.
Furthermore, the North American version will be released in the UK/Europe, and the Taiwanese version will be released in Korea on the same day, meaning “LOST CORNER” will be available in countries and regions around the world.
This was made possible in response to positive feedback from overseas users and release offers from various countries and regions. The overseas CD will be released as a “standard edition.”
Following on from their previous album, STRAY SHEEP, global anticipation has built up for their long-awaited sixth album, LOST CORNER, which will be released worldwide on August 21st with other versions to be released in each country on August 23rd.
The songs included are “Chikyuu Globe,” the theme song for “How Do You Live?”, a Studio Ghibli film directed by Hayao Miyazaki (the character “崎” is officially spelled “tatsusaki”) that was highly acclaimed overseas, including winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature; “KICK BACK,” the opening theme for the TV anime “Chainsaw Man,” which was the first Japanese artist to rank in the Top 50 on Spotify’s global rankings and was the first Japanese song to be certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); “Tsuki wo Miteita,” the theme song for the latest installment of the globally popular game series, “FINAL FANTASY XVI;” “M87,” the theme song for the film “Shin Ultraman,” which was also screened overseas; “POP SONG,” the commercial song for the globally loved gaming device PlayStation, which is Guinness-certified as the best-selling home video game console brand of all time; and “Pale Blues,” the theme song for the TV drama “Rikokatsu,” which was also broadcast overseas. The album features numerous overseas hits and hot topics, such as “Blue,” the commercial songs for Coca-Cola Georgia in Japan, “LADY” and “Mainichi,” the theme song for the NHK morning drama “Wings of a Tiger,” the popular drama this season, “Sayonara Mata Itsuka!”, and “Garakurata,” the theme song for the movie “The Last Mile” to be released in the summer of 2024. This is an original full album that is a must-have for all generations around the world.
