Katori Shingo and EXIT meet for the first time for drinks alone! Kanechika reveals the “super star” Katori’s private life! “Katori-san’s house has chairs that can seat 68 people”

■ “Your house is so big, why are you in a hotel?” “What are you doing?” (Rintaro, EXIT)

“Nanani Underground Abema” is a regular Abema program featuring Inagaki Goro, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi (the official spelling of “nagi” is the old-style character for “bow” with the character for “front” and “sword”), and Katori Shingo.

Episode 34, which aired on July 21st at 8pm, is a “Thrilling! Suspicious but delicious restaurants! Tokyo Underground Gourmet Tour” project.

“Underground gourmet” refers to restaurants that look so suspicious that it’s impossible to tell what’s going on inside, restaurants with dark entrances in basements that make it difficult to enter alone, and restaurants that are difficult to even reach the entrance in the first place. These are all suspicious but delicious restaurants.

The members Inagaki, Kusanagi, Katori and Nanani left the studio for the first time in a while and went on location in search of underground gourmet food.

As various underground gourmet restaurants are introduced, Katori heads to Shinjuku 3-chome in Tokyo with EXIT’s Rintaro and Kanechika Daiki.

Following the directions on the map, we arrived in front of the building where we thought the shop was located, but it was just a multi-use building with no sign of the shop… Feeling uneasy, we climbed the stairs and found only a huge refrigerator in front of the shop.

Katori timidly opens the refrigerator door, and they arrive at the very underground izakaya they were looking for. The three immediately ask the owner, “What kind of restaurant is this?”, to which he replies, “It’s a restaurant that serves horumon nabe and horse meat sashimi.”

Regarding the entrance, he revealed the story behind his unique idea, saying, “As an offal hotpot restaurant, we thought about what would be the best way to convey the freshness of the food, and we decided on adding a door to represent the inside of a refrigerator.”

Once they sat down, the three ordered the recommended menu and started the party in high spirits. Then, EXIT’s Rintaro confessed, “After all, this is the first time I’ve ever had a drink with Katori,” revealing that although they have worked together many times, this was surprisingly the first time they had ever had a drink together.

When asked, “Do you go out drinking?”, Katori muttered, “I don’t go out drinking.” Then, EXIT’s Kanechika said, “That’s right, because (Katori) has chairs at home that can seat 68 people.” Just when you thought he would deny it, Katori grinned and said, “63 people!”

Rintaro, who heard this extremely high-level conversation, made comments that seemed to speak for the viewers, saying, “I don’t get it!”, “What does that mean!?”, “Please explain it properly!”, and “What kind of house do you live in?”

Furthermore, Katori and Rintaro kept drinking more and more. Kanechika couldn’t stand to see them, so he spoke candidly about the feelings of people who don’t drink alcohol, saying, “That’s why we hate splitting the bill,” and “I’ve been hanging on for this long with just one cup of oolong tea, so splitting the bill for three highballs is just too much.”

Katori, who had been listening to this, then got the crowd excited with comments befitting a big star, such as “It’s okay, I’ll pay,” “I’ve never gone dutch,” and “I always pay for everything.”

Then, Kanechika asked, “Do you (Katori) not go out to eat?”, to which Katori replied, “It just occurred to me,” and “I’m staying in a hotel…” and started talking about his private life. Then, Rintaro chimed in, “Your house is so big, yet you’re in a hotel?” and “What are you doing?”, again as if speaking for the viewers’ feelings.

However, Katori nonchalantly revealed details of his elegant private life, saying, “I eat afternoon tea,” and “The most delicious afternoon tea I had recently was at a hotel in New York,” surprising the EXIT duo.

In addition, episode 34 of “Nanani Underground ABEMA,” in which Inagaki, Kusanagi, and Katori visit the world’s oldest and most mysterious underground shopping mall in Asakusa, Tokyo, where they feast on local gourmet food, and Michiopa and Inagaki visit a room in an apartment with no signboard, is currently being streamed on “ABEMA.”

In episode 35, which will air next week on July 28th, titled “Buzz Kids Part 2,” kids who are currently making waves on social media, including sisters who are self-proclaimed big fans of actress Hirose Suzu, and an elementary school singer, will gather in Nananani’s studio.

Will there be an impromptu battle with Inagaki, Kusanagi, and Katori? Be sure to check it out.
