Kyoko Saito selected as lead actor for the film commemorating the Grand Prix win at the TikTok TOHO Film Festival 2024

TikTok and Toho are holding the TikTok TOHO Film Festival 2024, a vertical film festival that will be held for the fourth time in 2024. The baton was passed on from Takumi Kitamura, who served as the first ambassador in 2021, to Hayato Isomura for the second, Elaiza Ikeda for the third, and Ayaka Miyoshi for the fourth. The festival is accepting video submissions from the public from June 26th.

The Grand Prix winner of this film festival will be awarded the right to produce a new vertical film produced by Toho. Kyoko Saito, who is making great strides as an actress, has been chosen to star in this commemorative film.

Upon hearing the decision, Saito said, “Works set in a vertical world are unique to the modern age, and I’m excited that it will be released on TikTok, which I enjoy using on a daily basis!” He spoke enthusiastically about his joy at being involved and his expectations for the “vertical film.”

The judges for the event will be ambassador Ayaka Miyoshi, as well as Kentaro Hagiwara (film director), Wakana Okamura (producer), MEGUMI (actress and producer), and Shinnosuke (film review TikTok creator). These professionals from a wide range of fields working at the forefront of video content, including film, television, video distribution services, and TikTok, will explore the possibilities of vertical film through the submitted works and expand its future.
