Southern All Stars made a brilliant debut in 1978 and has been active at the forefront of the music scene for 46 years since then. On June 25th, it was announced that they will be releasing their 16th original album, their first in nine years, and will be the final act at the summer festival, “ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024 in HITACHINAKA,” which has caused a big stir.
The new song “Koi no Boogie Woogie Night,” which was released as a pre-release track from the album on the same day, has been chosen as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “Shinjuku Field Hospital,” and is used as the ending theme song for the drama, which features an all-star cast.
Also, in early July, Southern All Stars announced their new song “Say Hello to Jeanne d’Arc” as the theme song for the 2024 TBS Sports program, which will be broadcast on TBS, including the Paris Olympics. With its hard, overdriven guitar, soaring piano, and throbbing rhythm section… the song is a rock and roll number by Southern All Stars that embodies the genes of the great rock band that have been passed down through the generations. It was first aired as a surprise on Kuwata’s regular radio show on July 6th, and the release of this new song shortly after the release of his new song “Koi no Boogie Woogie Night” shocked many listeners.
Since kicking off the work towards the album, Kuwata has been busy releasing two new songs, but while “Say Hello to Joan of Arc” can only be heard on Kuwata’s regular radio show and TBS news programs, listeners have flooded social media with requests to “release it!!” With the opening of the world’s biggest sporting event, the Paris Olympics, approaching, an edited version of “Say Hello to Joan of Arc” will be aired on radio stations nationwide from midnight on July 26th. This edited version is a short version that was specially edited for the special movie and broadcast currently available on the official TBS YouTube channel.
Furthermore, from July 26th, edited versions of “Say Hello to Joan of Arc” will be available on short video services such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts. In addition to “Love’s Boogie Woogie Night,” which was released in June, all the titles from the hit albums “Umi no Yeah!!” and “Umi no Oh, Yeah!!” were released to coincide with Marine Day. Users can also post the yet-to-be-released “Say Hello to Joan of Arc” on social media along with their summer memories and scenes from their everyday lives.
Enjoy the powerful “Southern Rock” edited version first while thinking of the athletes competing in the faraway city of Paris and Joan of Arc, the goddess of victory.
