■Choi Ji-woo will be reappearing in episode 5 of “Black Pean Season 2”!
The Sunday Theatre “Black Pean Season 2” starring Kazunari Ninomiya is broadcast every Sunday from 9:00 pm on TBS. The 4th episode will be broadcast on July 28th.
[Episode 4 Synopsis]
A lawyer famous for medical lawsuits, Kazuko Tojima (Mari Hanafusa), comes to Tojo University with a group of citizens, claiming that Amagi (Kazunari Ninomiya), who performs dangerous operations on patients and demands huge fees, is committing fraud. Saeki (Masaaki Uchino) manages to settle the situation by immediately canceling Amagi’s upcoming scheduled operations.
On the way home, Sera (Takeuchi Ryoma) sees Wako arguing with Miwa (Aoi Wakana) and tries to mediate, but it turns out that Wako is Miwa’s mother. Suddenly, Wako collapses on the spot. Sera, who responds to the situation, determines that emergency coronary artery bypass surgery is necessary and performs the operation. However, there are areas that are severely calcified, so they are forced to give up. The only thing that can be cured is Amagi’s direct anastomosis, but Wako refuses Amagi’s operation…
Kazuko will undergo a bypass operation covered by insurance using the medical AI “Elcano” developed by Ishin University. Saeki’s rival, Ishin University professor Sugai (Danta Yasunori), is trying to use AI to successfully perform an operation that any doctor could do, and to approach the top position in the Japanese Medical Association. However, one problem after another occurs during the operation. Will Amagi be able to extend a helping hand to Miwa’s mother Kazuko, who is his enemy? Who appears like a savior in the chaotic operating room…?
■Megumi Toshiaki will be making a guest appearance in episode 5. Plus, Choi Ji-woo will be making a return!
Prior to the broadcast of episode 4, it was announced that Megumi Toshiaki will be the guest in episode 5, and Choi Ji-woo, who appeared in episode 1, will also be making a reappearance.
Megumi plays Kizaki Daigo, the president of a group company that operates a chain of restaurants in Korea. Kizaki is in need of a direct anastomosis operation that only Amagi can perform, and offers to perform the operation. As a condition, he will not give up half of his assets, but will pay 5 billion yen, the amount needed for a new hospital, the Sliggie Heart Center. He wins a chance sample against Amagi and is admitted to Tojo University, but it seems he has some kind of connection with Sugai from Ishin University…
Choi Ji-woo returns as Park So-hyun, a Korean doctor, hospital manager, and restaurant owner who has the ability to open restaurants overseas. She suffered from ischemic cardiomyopathy, but she handed over the title deed to the bulgogi restaurant she managed to Amagi, and survived by undergoing surgery.
In episode 5, when Sohyun visits Tojo University for a post-op check-up, Kizaki and Amagi appear in front of her. In fact, Sohyun and Kizaki are rivals, and it was Kizaki’s KD Group that bought all the stores that Sohyun had given up at low prices so that Amagi could have her surgery. Not satisfied with that, Kizaki is plotting to buy up the only remaining store, the No. 1 store, which holds memories of Sohyun and her late husband.
Meanwhile, Seohyun’s medical examination results reveal that she has mitral regurgitation and a torn chordae tendineae, and that she will need a 12 million yen surgery. Minjae (Kim Mujun) is busy trying to secure the funds, but will Seohyun be able to protect the first store, which is full of memories?
