■A new challenge falls on the 15cm Minami-kun and Chiyomi?
The third episode of the drama “Minami-kun is My Lover!?” (TV Asahi), starring Iinuma Ai and Yagi Yusei (FANTASTICS), will be broadcast from 9:00 p.m. on July 30th.
This work is based on the masterpiece “Minami-kun’s Lover” (original story by Shungiku Uchida / published by Seirin Kogeisha), which has been adapted into a film many times before, and is the first time that TV Asahi has adapted it into a “gender-reversed version.” The main character, Horikiri Chiyomi, is played by Ai Iinuma, and her partner Minami-kun is played by Yusei Yagi of FANTASTICS.
After the first and second episodes were aired, the total number of views on catch-up streaming services such as ABEMA and TVer exceeded 4.4 million. The drama is attracting a lot of attention as a hot topic this summer.
■Chiyomi and Minami-kun share a beautiful but sad kiss at a memorable amusement park and Ferris wheel…
After nearly being sucked up by a vacuum cleaner in episode 2, Chiyomi and Minami decide to stay together. Chiyomi takes Minami to school with her in her breast pocket, and they enjoy their time together by eating lunch and secretly chatting. They also go to the amusement park where they used to go together, and share a beautiful but sad kiss on the Ferris wheel that holds memories for them…
While enjoying their time together, Chiyomi and Minami-kun are forced to face a bittersweet reality. The biggest question gradually begins to weigh on the two of them: Why did Minami-kun become 15 centimeters tall?
■ Episode 3 Synopsis
Horikiri Chiyomi (Iinuma Ai) can’t just leave Minami Hiroyuki (Minami-kun) (Yagi Yusei) alone after he has grown to 15 centimeters, so she decides to slip him into her breast pocket and go to school with him. As the two leave the house in high spirits in the morning, they are confronted by Misuzu (Takeda Rena), the coach of the university basketball team who secretly has feelings for Minami-kun. “Where did you hide Minami?” and “Tell him to return to the team,” Misuzu presses Chiyomi, but she can’t tell him the truth and can only remain silent. Misuzu worries about Minami-kun, and all Chiyomi can say is, “I’ll believe (Minami-kun’s words) and wait”…
Although she feels uneasy somewhere in her heart, Chiyomi enjoys school life with Minami-kun to the fullest, chatting with him without being noticed by others, eating lunch together on the rooftop… Furthermore, she even visits the crafts club to make clothes for Minami-kun…
Then one weekend, Chiyomi and Minami-kun decide to go to an amusement park. As the two of them make their way through Kamome Shopping Arcade, having a pleasant conversation, Hisako = Chaco (Muro Shigeru) witnesses them from the shadows. Chaco rushes to the Gerbera Beauty Salon and excitedly reports to Kaede (Kimura Yoshino) and Yuriko (Kaga Mariko) that “little Minami-kun was in Chiyomi-chan’s pocket,” but…
Soon after, Minami-kun’s father, Haruyuki (Ikki Sawamura), appears at the yakitori restaurant “Shinshin” run by Shintaro (Shinji Takeda). The members of the Horikiri family also gather, and in the lively atmosphere, a secret about Minami-kun’s mother, Kaoruko (Akiko Yagi), that even Minami-kun didn’t know, is revealed…
