WEST.’s 23rd single, “Maa Ikka!”, is scheduled for release on September 10th.
“Maa Ikka!” is a super pop, hyper-positive, self-affirming song. As a pop maestro of the Reiwa era, singer-songwriter meiyo, who has produced numerous buzz songs, has provided a song for the second time following “POP&POP.”
The full album includes “Narifuri,” a rock number with a straight message of “push forward with single-minded determination,” and a sense of speed that is characteristic of WEST. The first pressing A includes the pure love song “I like you!!,” which is filled with warm and gentle feelings, the first pressing B includes “Akimeru Shuyaku e,” written by Kotaro from Ten Percent Curtain, and the regular edition includes the super upbeat party tune “Golden Time,” written by ET-KING and NAOKI-T, and the funky, danceable “Checkmate,” which explodes with sexy charm.
Additionally, bonus footage will be included on the first editions A and B. First edition A includes the music video and making of “It’s Okay!”, in which WEST. get caught up in a pop and comical mini-mishap, but move on positively with the magic words “It’s Okay!”, as well as a dance version of the music video with addictive choreography by the Powerpuff Boys. First edition B includes an uncut recording of the outdoor festival “METROCK2024 TOKYO” that they performed at in May. It will also be released on video, including a documentary that follows them from rehearsals to behind the scenes.
It was also announced that to celebrate the release of “Maa Ikka!”, a simultaneous live broadcast will be held on the official WEST. YouTube channel and the official WEST. TikTok channel from 8:30 p.m. on August 1st. This will be the group’s first attempt at a simultaneous live broadcast on both YouTube and TikTok, with the seven WEST. members directly talking about the appeal of the new single.
During the live broadcast, a portion of the audio for “Maa Ikka!” will be unveiled for the first time along with the choreography.
