Hana Hope releases collaboration MV for TV anime “Spice and Wolf”! CD artwork and contents also announced

■The characters from “Spice and Wolf”, Lawrence and Holo, appear on the jacket of Hana Hope’s “Tabi no Yukue” anime edition!

Hana Hope has announced the artwork and details of her new single “Tabi no Yukue” which will be released on May 29th.

This is Hana Hope’s second package single, and the title song “Tabi no Yukue” is the opening theme for the currently airing TV anime “Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF.”

In addition to this “Tabi no Yukue”, “Rain Or Shine” was written and composed by cero’s frontman Shohei Takagi (“Taka” is officially spelled Hashigodaka), and “Rain Or Shine” was written and composed by Hana Hope herself. Contains four songs: “Passing Forward” and “Tabi no Yukue (English version)”.

The single will be released in two forms: artist edition (first press limited edition) and anime edition (limited period press edition). The artist edition has a paper jacket with a poster included, while the anime edition uses an environmentally friendly disc tray “Original Blend Material” for the jacket artwork newly drawn by the TV anime “MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF.” In addition to the digipak version, a non-credit opening movie will be included.

The jackets for both versions have also been released. The artist edition features artwork similar to the “Tabi no Yukue” music video with impactful typography in addition to photos. The anime version features the smiling faces of Spice and Wolf characters Lawrence and Holo.

Animate has decided to give bonuses to double purchasers of the theme song. Those who purchase both the limited edition of Hana Hope’s “Tabi no Yukue” and the limited edition of ClariS’s “Andante” (including pre-orders) will receive an A4 clear file with double-sided anime designs on a first-come, first-served basis.

After the anime ends on May 6th, Hana Hope’s “Tabi no Yue” x “Spice and Wolf,” which consists of “Tabi no Yukue” edited for this video and the highlight scenes of the anime up to episode 6, will be released. A collaboration MV has been released. This video heightens expectations for how the story will develop from here and where the protagonists’ journey will take them.

■Hana Hope Comment
Q. Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would be in charge of the opening theme.
Hana Hope:I was honestly happy to be able to work with such a historical work. Since this is the opening of the story, I wanted to do my best to make the content feel exciting.

Q. Please tell us your impressions after reading the original story and scenario of “Spice and Wolf.”
Hana Hope: A very peaceful rural landscape surrounded by nature, with vast grasslands and small villages from the European Middle Ages, came to mind before my eyes. I could even feel the wind rushing through me. The various events that occur during the road trip between the main characters, Lawrence and Holo, were interesting, and I wanted to see the next episode more and more.

Q. Please tell us the name of the song and the thoughts behind it.
Hana Hope: The holo who spends time with the main character is a wolf incarnate, and although she would normally be feared, she is actually a cute, fun and bright girl. Because of her, she sang in a way that was warm and full of humanity, yet also conveyed the sublimity of the divine wolf, in a way that gently and beautifully echoed across the meadow.

Q. Please give a message to those who are looking forward to the anime.
Hana Hope: Please get in the mood with the opening song. Please enjoy watching it while anticipating the song’s title, “Tabi no Yukue.” It might be even more exciting if you add a tail and ears to it!
