■FRUITS ZIPPER spreads the appeal of “delicious, fun and cute” sweets to the world!

The “NEW OKASHI PROJECT”, which has appointed FRUITS ZIPPER as the “Meiji Sweets Ambassador”, will start on August 1st.

In Japan, where there are many annual events, there are many opportunities for communication centered around sweets, such as chatting around sweets on “special days” (seasonal events), giving them to someone, or making them yourself. Meiji Co., Ltd. has launched the “NEW OKASHI PROJECT” to make such “special days” even more special and fun than ever before by allowing people to freely create fun memories with sweets in their own way.

The flag-bearer for this project will be FRUITS ZIPPER, who also served as the “#OshiChoco Valentine Ambassador” for Valentine’s Day 2024. In order to promote the “NEW OKASHI PROJECT” together with these women, who enjoy sweets on a daily basis and are spreading their wings and wings around the world, they will be active on various special days such as Halloween and Christmas as “Meiji Sweets Ambassadors.”

On August 1st, the start date of the “NEW OKASHI PROJECT,” a video was released featuring the inauguration greetings and declarations.

In the interview after the shoot, the members wrote freely on flip charts what kind of activities they would like to do as “Meiji Sweets Ambassadors.” The opinions of the members were perfectly in agreement: “I want to hand out sweets in a car or on a bus” (Hayase and Nakagawa), “I want to create a Meiji x FRUITS ZIPPER collaboration product” (Matsumoto and Chinzei), “I want to live in a candy house” (Sakurai and Tsukiashi). Everyone was surprised when Manaka came up with an idea that combined all three opinions, and expectations grew for the project to be launched by such well-coordinated members.

In addition, as the first step of the “NEW OKASHI PROJECT,” an inbound initiative has begun. Various information about the “NEW OKASHI PROJECT” will be posted on the Chocolate Daisakusen X account.

■FRUITS ZIPPER Interview
Q. In February, the music video “FRUITS ZIPPER “Happy Chocolate” meiji #OshiChocoValentine Ver.”, your first collaboration with Meiji, was released. Has there been any reaction to it?
Chinzei:This was the first time we had a MV made in uniform, and the fans were really happy, like, “I wonder if this is what school days were like?” Also, because of the MV, the fans made gingerbread houses, made Meiji sweets, and posted photos of the members along with the sweets they made, and they also spread the word about their favorite chocolates on social media, so it was really cute and I was happy.
Q. How did you feel when you heard that you would be appointed as the Meiji Sweets Ambassador, someone who will enliven special occasions with sweets?
middle:I’m really happy that everyone at Meiji wants to work with us again. Also, many fans enjoy Meiji’s music videos, and often post polaroids or acrylic stands with Meiji sweets, so I want to tell all the “Fulppahs” soon that “We can do it again!” and I’d be really happy if we could get Meiji sweets excited together again.
Q. What would you like to do as the Meiji Sweets Ambassador? Please feel free to write it on the flip chart.
Hayase:I want to fulfill my dream of “getting in a car and handing out sweets to people on the street.”
Matsumoto:“I want to make sweets in packaging that has a picture of a FRUITS ZIPPER on it.”
Nakagawa:Just like Noel-chan, I want to “get on a big bus and hand out sweets made with Meiji and FRUITS ZIPPER to lots of people from the bus.”
Sakurai:“I want to make a life-sized candy house.” It’s been my dream since I was a child, and I have so many dreams about candy houses, so I’d like to make a life-sized candy house like the FRUITS ZIPPER house.
Chinzei:Like Matsumoto-san, I want to create a collaborative product with Meiji. It could be for Halloween or to hand out candy. I want to hand them out to kids and other small children in various places.
Monthly:For me, “living in a candy house.” Since I was little, I have had a big dream of living in a candy house, so I want to actually live in one. I want Yui-chan to build it for me, and I want to actually live in it!
middle:“We’ll perform live in a set that looks like a candy house, and hand out collaboration goods from the stage!” We got to do what all the members wanted to do. (laughs)
Q. Do you have any memories of a special day when you thought, “That was fun!”?
Nakagawa:The other day, I had the opportunity to hold a birthday celebration for myself, which was incredibly fun. I was so happy that everyone celebrated with me, and it felt so heartwarming, so I thought it was a really special day.
Matsumoto:This is the concert we had recently at Budokan. It was to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, and it was a special day because I got to spend it with all my favorite people!
