Yuzu appears on “Sunday First Time Listening”! Performs a live version of their hit song “Natsuiro”

■Looking back on Yuzu’s journey so far, we’ll uncover the secrets behind the creation of their hit songs and their origins!

Yuzu will be making a guest appearance in the “Interviewer Hayashi Osamu” segment of “Sunday First Time Hearing,” which will air on the MBS/TBS network on August 4th.

Yuzu has produced songs that have touched the hearts of a wide range of people, including “Eiko no Hashiba,” which is ranked number one among the most memorable Summer Olympic theme songs, and “Natsuiro,” which is ranked number one in the Heisei summer song ranking. We look back on their journey so far and uncover the secret stories behind the creation of these masterpieces and their origins.

The two, who have been friends since elementary school, started performing on the street in front of a department store in their hometown of Yokohama when they graduated from high school at the age of 19. At first, no one stopped to watch their street performances, but they reveal that a miraculous episode with two women they met there led to their debut. They retired from street performances in the same year as their debut, but the number of fans who gathered to see their final street performance reached about 7,000, as they look back on that time with footage of their street performances.

When talking about “Eiko no Hashiba”, they talk about the heartwarming story of how even now, 20 years after the song was released, athletes still come to greet them at their concerts in the year after the Olympics. Yuzu has many fans in the entertainment industry, and this time Oshima Yuko, who has been a fan for 26 years, appeared and talked about the charms of Yuzu. She also shared the surprising story of how she listened to “Eiko no Hashiba” when she gave birth.

Furthermore, when talking about “Natsuiro,” which they say is “the song that will become their calling card,” they revealed that they have never not sung it at a concert in the 27 years since their debut, and that even now they continue to evolve the way they play and get the crowd excited together with the audience. They will be performing a “live version of Natsuiro” for “Sunday First Time Learning.”

Although Yuzu’s musical career seems to be going smoothly, they confess that they have had days of trouble that no one knows about. They became explosively popular soon after their debut, and had inner conflicts about holding concerts in large venues without having the skills to do so.

In the 27 years since their debut, Yuzu has released a new song every year without a break, and on July 31st they released their new album “Zukan.” This book gives us a glimpse into their life philosophy.
