“Black Pean Season 2,” a Sunday drama starring Ninomiya Kazunari, is broadcast on TBS every Sunday from 9 p.m.
In the fourth episode, which aired on July 28th, Tojima Kazuko (Hanafusa Mari), a lawyer who is also Miwa’s (Aoi Wakana) mother, appears, questioning Amagi’s (Ninomiya Kazunari) methods of performing dangerous operations at the risk of large sums of money and is planning to sue him.
Kazuko’s unstable angina required Amagi’s direct anastomosis, but she requested a public surgery using the cutting-edge medical AI “Elcano,” which was covered by insurance, and the operation was performed by Noda (Ikeda Tetsuhiro) from Osaka University.
However, an emergency occurs during the operation. Sera (Ryoma Takeuchi) rushes in to help, but the only way to save Wako’s life is through direct anastomosis, which only Amagi can do. Miwa begs Amagi, and a chance sample is tossed to allow her to undergo the operation. Miwa chooses heads. However, the coin in Amagi’s hand is facing tails… and that’s where the story ends.
With his own position in danger, will Amagi be able to lend a helping hand to his opponent? And what will be the outcome of the battle between the genius doctor and the cutting-edge medical AI?
Choi Ji-woo reappears in the fifth episode, which airs on August 4th. Sohyun, played by Choi Ji-woo, sells all the restaurants she owns except for the first one, and receives Amagi’s direct anastomosis, saving her life. She visits Tojo University for a post-op check-up, but discovers that she has mitral regurgitation and a torn chordae tendineae, and needs a snipe operation that costs about 12 million yen…
At the same time, Kizaki (Megumi Toshiaki), who has passed the chance sample required to undergo Amagi’s surgery, is admitted to Tojo University. Kizaki is the president of a group company that operates a chain of restaurants in Korea, and has promised to invest 5 billion yen in the new hospital, “Sligie Heart Center.” In fact, he is in a rival relationship with Seohyun, and it was Kizaki who bought up all the stores that Seohyun had given up at low prices. Furthermore, he is also planning to purchase the first store, which he holds a special attachment to, and when Kizaki learns from Amagi that 12 million yen is needed for Seohyun’s snipe surgery…

The patient, who is in the care of Ishin University’s Sugai (Danda Yasunori), needs a coronary artery bypass operation, but the shape of the artery requires a direct anastomosis, a procedure that only Amagi can perform. Uesugi is interested in the latest medical technology and is eager to operate using the medical technology that Ishin University is currently developing.
Takiuchi plays Reiko Hayakawa, a doctor at Ishin University. She cooperates with Takashina (Kotaro Koizumi) from Tojo University across the boundaries of the hospital, and continues to conduct research on the latest medical treatments. Furthermore, this is related to the reason why Nekoda (Shuri) left Ishin University, and when she visits Tojo University, she bumps into Nekoda…

■ Episode 5 Synopsis
A public surgery using cutting-edge medical AI developed by Ishin University, performed by Amagi (Ninomiya Kazunari), ends in an outcome no one could have predicted.
Meanwhile, Amagi receives a request for surgery from Kizaki (Megumi Toshiaki), who runs a restaurant chain in Korea. Saeki (Uchino Masaaki), who is worried about the huge construction costs of the new hospital that Amagi is designing, proposes to Amagi that he accept the operation on the condition that he invests 5 billion yen in the new hospital. Amagi immediately flies to Korea to perform a chance sample.
Kizaki accepts the conditions and wins the chance sample against Amagi, and is hospitalized in a special room at Tojo University to undergo surgery. At the same time, Sohyun (Choi Ji-woo) also comes to Tojo University for a post-op checkup and runs into Kizaki. In fact, Kizaki and Sohyun are rivals, and Kizaki bought all the stores that Sohyun had given up to undergo surgery at low prices, and was also aiming for the remaining No. 1 store.
Sohyeon, who hates Kizaki for using dirty tricks to expand his business, advises Amagi not to perform the operation. However, Amagi doesn’t care.
However, it turns out that Kizaki is secretly connected to Sugai (Danta Yasunori)…
