■Kis-My-Ft2’s Miyata Toshiya was thrilled to perform with Miyano Mamoru, a huge fan, on “Kis-My-Ft2 Miyata’s Nico Live It’s Alright!”
On July 27th at 9pm, episode #27 of Kis-My-Ft2 Miyata’s Nico Live It’s Alright! was streamed on YouTube Live.
This time, under the theme “I want to talk about Kinnikuman with voice actors!”, we welcomed voice actors Miyano Mamoru, who plays Kinnikuman, and Yasumoto Hiroki, who plays Buffalo Man, from the currently airing TV anime Kinnikuman: Perfect Superhuman Ancestors Arc, as guests, and the three, including Miyata, who plays Black Hole, had a long talk about their beloved Kinnikuman.
Miyata called out to the two guests in the style of a ring announcer, and Miyano and Yasumoto appeared. Each introduced themselves with the lines of their character, but Yasumoto had suddenly put on a “Buffalo Supporter” on his arm and was introducing himself with a smile. “What’s this! When did you get this?” Miyano retorted, to which Yasumoto replied, “This is my personal property. It really helps keep your feet warm.”
When Miyata introduced himself with the lines of his character Black Hole, he received praise such as, “You’ve totally mastered the voice acting!!” (Miyano) and “Wow, that’s impressive!” (Yasumoto), to which Miyata humbly replied, “Not at all!!”
Miyata has been to see Miyano’s live shows many times, and about a show he went to with Sakuma Daisuke (Snow Man), Miyano told him an anecdote: “You stood out in the seats for people involved! The audience could tell you were there!”
Miyata was extremely nervous about acting alongside his idol Miyano. Then a cue card appeared, instructing Miyata to move a little closer to Miyano. Miyano hugged Miyata, who was having a hard time closing the gap, and Miyata got very excited, saying, “Sakuma!! Are you watching!! Sakuma!!” Viewers also commented with excitement, saying, “Too cute lol,” “Miya-chan is too much of a geek lol,” and “His neck is bright red lol.”
In the first half of the character introduction, Miyano talked about his interactions with Kamiya Akira, the previous voice actor for Kinnikuman, and how the scene in the trailer where the two of them voiced the same role made him really feel like he had “taken over the role.”
Black Hole had a highlight in this anime, and Miyata commented that “the pressure was intense.” He also commented that when he re-read the original from the first volume, “it’s not the Kinnikuman I know,” and was surprised at how much more comedy elements there were than now.
Miyata also said that it was the first time for the group to do a voice recording together. During the microphone work, when he saw a scene where Yasumoto was unable to include his lines, he learned that “it’s okay to act more freely.” The voice recording studio was abuzz with talk about Kinnikuman, and the three talked about how the studio was filled with “Kinnikuman love.”
In the second half, in the “Let’s Think of New Original Superhumans!” corner, the three of them created original superhumans in response to the “Superhuman Recruitment” project, which solicited characters from readers of the original manga. This time, in addition to thinking about the “superhuman’s design, characteristics, and naming,” they also considered the “superhuman’s special move” and introduced it in a hand-drawn illustration. The three of them worked earnestly with their brushes. There was a period of silence, and then Miyano suddenly asked, “This is being broadcast, right?” to which Yasumoto replied, “Umm… if my memory serves me right, it’s ‘live’,” which caused laughter in the audience. Viewers followed up with comments such as, “I’m happy to see the whorls,” “Niki and the others’ whorls,” and “Miyata-Niki live is free, isn’t it?”
The three superhumans announced were Miyata, who will expose the dark past of his opponents, “Black History Man,” Yasumoto, who will be called “Accounting Man” because the arm covers he wears look like Buffalo Supporters, and Miyano, who will imitate the face and voice of the person he wants to imitate, “Nice Voice.”
When Miyano explained “Nice Voice” by saying, “You can’t copy moves, but you can copy voices…”, Yasumoto immediately retorted, “Then that’s weak!! lol”. Viewers were excited with comments such as “Too lethal” and “Public execution lol” about Miyata’s “Black History Man”, “The Accounting Man is innovative~” and “Their arms are the same lol” about Yasumoto, and “The Mamo art is good” and “It looks like it would be easily adopted lol” about Miyano.
In “I Tried Singing ‘Kinnikuman Go Fight!'”, everyone watched a video of Miyata singing the theme song of episode 0, “Kinnikuman Go Fight!”. The video was filmed just for this performance.
The two guests commented, “Surprisingly, ‘Ha!’ is difficult, it comes in behind the scenes!”, “It’s erotic when Miyatchi sings it.” (Miyano), “It’s sexy, but refreshing,” “Are they doing it just for this!? The way they put it on this show is crazy!!” (Yasumoto), and other reactions. Viewers also praised, saying, “His voice is elegant,” “His profile is handsome,” and “The video is elaborate!”. When Miyata suggested, “We’d like to do a version where everyone sings it together! It’s the national anthem, isn’t it?”, Miyano expanded on the image, saying, “That’s right! That’s why everyone sings it at events with their arms around each other’s shoulders.” The three strongly requested the Kinnikuman staff team, who were on the scene off-screen, to do so, saying, “Ah! We want to do an event like that! We’re looking forward to your event plans!”
During the final toast with the princesses, Miyata mentioned that July 26 marked Kis-My-Ft2’s 20th anniversary, saying, “I wanted to make my high school debut, so I was in a flashy group and was showing off. When my flip phone rang during class, the ringtone was “Ojamajo Carnival,” and from there, my life of playing “Monster Hunter” every day began. This is the piercing I got at that time.” Then, someone off-screen pointed out, “That’s a dark history man,” and “That’s the confession pattern,” causing laughter.
