Hikaru Utada has released the aftermovie from her first Taipei concert, which was held at Taipei Arena on August 10th and 11th.
Hikaru Utada is currently holding her first nationwide tour in about six years, “HIKARU UTADA SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024,” since 2018. Starting with a performance in Fukuoka on the first day, she performed at five venues in Aichi, Saitama, Miyagi, and Tokyo, and then her first performance in Taipei attracted about 20,000 fans over two days. The tour ended with great success.
This is Utada Hikaru’s first visit to Taipei. There was a welcoming atmosphere even before the concert started, with ad trucks driving around the city, flags being displayed, and posters being put up in subway stations. The after-movie is the first video content of this tour to feature interviews with fans who gathered in Taipei after the concert, in which they talk about their feelings, as well as footage of the area around the venue and the concert.
A fan who appeared in the video commented, “I’m really glad I was able to get tickets this time. I’m very excited, and I’m so happy I got to meet him in person. I’m so grateful that he came to Taiwan. Thank you for making it the best day for Taiwanese fans.” Be sure to check out the excitement at the venue, where it’s still going strong.
In addition, the playlist “ENCORE Utada Hikaru,” made up of the setlist from this tour, is also now available.
“HIKARU UTADA SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024” will hold performances in Hong Kong on August 17th and 18th, and in Osaka on August 27th and 28th. The final performances will be at Kanagawa K Arena on August 31st and September 1st.
