Q. Among the famous Showa songs featured on the program, which one is your favorite?
Yamazaki:I especially like “Leave yourself to the flow of time” (Teresa Teng). Her mother often sang Teresa Teng’s songs, and I was able to feel nostalgic for her while singing them comfortably.

Q. Please tell us about a song sung by a guest that left an impression on you.
Yamazaki:Hiromi Go’s medley. Mr. Go’s stage performance as an overwhelming entertainer was overwhelming.

Q. Through the program, what do you think is the charm of Showa era masterpieces?
Yamazaki:I believe that Showa era masterpieces have beautiful Japanese language, memorable melodies, and are able to touch people’s hearts even though they transcend eras.

■Ammika comment
Q. Please tell us your impressions after finishing the recording.
Ammika:I was so happy that I was able to sing with big musical stars, famous enka singers, and Hiromi Go, who I’ve been a big fan of since childhood, and it felt like a dream. It was like a dream to perform a duet with Ikusaburo Yamazaki, who was watching from the audience seats at my favorite musical! It was like a dream to be able to see Hiromi Go singing so passionately in front of me! Thanks to Mr. Ikusaburo Yamazaki’s stable MC, I was able to calmly introduce many of my favorite Showa era songs to everyone, and I was very happy. The dancing and singing with everyone at the end was just like a Showa era song show and it was so much fun!

Q. Did you make any new discoveries from the ranking results of Showa era masterpieces featured on the program?
Ammika:Looking back at the great songs of the Showa era, I once again felt that I was born and raised in a wonderful era filled with great Showa songs. I was surprised that I knew and hummed all the famous songs from the Showa era, and that they were all in my memory drawer from my life.

Q. Among the famous Showa songs featured on the program, which one is your favorite?
Ammika:Lonely Chaplin. I love the Suzuki siblings. I used to sing hymns in church all my childhood, but I had a complex about my deep voice. I was able to find a famous song that made use of that deep voice in a cool way, and it gave me confidence that it was a good song.

Q. Please tell us about a song sung by a guest that left an impression on you.
Ammika:“Leave yourself to the flow of time” (Teresa Teng) was sung by musical stars Ikusaburo Yamazaki and Yu Shirota. After that, I was able to sing “Tsugu nai” after being introduced by two people. The opening song, Kyoko Koizumi, was sung by Seiko Niizuma, Midori Oka, and others, and it was a gorgeous start!

Q. Through the program, what do you think is the charm of Showa era masterpieces?
Ammika:There is drama in the songs, and they relate to each person’s emotional experiences, such as joy, anger, sadness, transience, and nostalgia.
There are as many dramas in life as there are masterpieces from the Showa era… It makes me feel that again.

Q. Please give a message to the viewers who are looking forward to the program.
Ammika:We’ll introduce you to famous Showa songs that resonate with all generations living today and are known to all generations, making you feel like you’re having karaoke with musical stars and unique talents! I want you to sing together in front of the TV, and I want young people to discover the best ways to sing karaoke and use it for communication!
