■New appearances by Oda Yuma (THE SUPER FRUIT) and Kasai Yusei have also been confirmed!
From the movie “Atashi no!” (released November 8th), co-starring Miho Watanabe and Masaya Kimura (INI), a dazzling stills depicting the straightforward youth torn between love and friendship have been released all at once.
The 11 stills released show the battle of love and friendship between best friends Akoko Sekigawa (Miho Watanabe) and Mitsuki Taniguchi (Nagisa Saito) over the most popular guy in school, Naoki Otomo (Masaya Kimura). The close-up shot of Akoko and Naoki in yukata, which was released the other day and became a hot topic on social media, as well as the comical horse-riding battle scene between Akoko’s and Mitsuki’s armies, depicting the love battle between Akoko and Mitsuki, who vie for Naoki’s, with both claiming, “Naoki is mine!”, are must-sees.
There is also a scene where the cool-headed Narita Ao (Yamanaka Jutaro) gives advice to Akoko, who is devastated when she expresses her feelings to Naoki in a straightforward manner only to be rejected. Meanwhile, there is a heart-wrenching scene where the clumsy Mitsuki, who is unable to express her feelings well, stops Naoki from going to look for Akoko… And it’s not just a battle of love; there are also scenes that give a glimpse of the friendship between best friends Akoko and Mitsuki, and Naoki and Narita, conveying the atmosphere of a youthful, emotional movie swaying between love and friendship.
In addition, a comment has arrived from Tanaka and Suzuki, classmates of Akoko and Naoki, who secretly observe Naoki from the shadows as he is confessed to by girls all over the school every day and tease him. The role of Tanaka will be played by Oda Yuma, a member of THE SUPER FRUIT, whose debut single “Chiguhagu” became a big hit on TikTok, exceeding 1 billion views, topping Spotify’s “Viral Chart” for 17 consecutive days, topping Billboard JAPAN’s “TikTok Weekly Top 20” for 6 consecutive weeks, and the phrase “Now, please listen, Chiguhagu” won the TikTok Buzzword Award 2022.
Upon receiving the offer, Oda, who is attempting acting for the first time in this film, said, “My first acting role was in a big movie like ‘My!’ and to be honest I was full of anxiety and tension, but my co-stars were kind enough to encourage me and taught me a lot of things I didn’t know, so I was able to complete the filming safely and enjoyably.” She also highlighted the film’s highlights, saying, “To everyone who is looking forward to this film, I think it is a work that will allow you to experience many different aspects of ‘youth’, filled with various emotions such as love, heartbreak, and friendship.”
Kasai Yusei, who plays Suzuki with his impressive shaved head, commented, “I was overjoyed because this is a school drama that I’ve always wanted to star in. At the same time, I was worried about whether I fit in with the beautiful men and women who are all my co-stars. I hope that you’ll feel heart-fluttering, sad, and chuckle during Suzuki’s scenes.” For some reason, the two of them are present at every scene where Naoki confesses his love, as well as the super important climax scene, so maybe you’ll become addicted to them…!?
A love-battle entertainment film based on Akoko’s “ultra-positive youth,” “Atashino!”, will be released this fall, and is dedicated to all mankind who are in love or want to be in love.
