Maki Ohguro and Yu Shirota will make guest appearances in the 7th episode of the TBS Sunday Drama “Black Pean Season 2,” starring Kazunari Ninomiya, which will air on August 25th.
Daikoku, who will be making his first appearance in a terrestrial TV drama, plays Ejiri Norie, the vice president of Tojo University and an internal medicine doctor. He is conducting research into online medical treatment using Elcano with a professor from Ishin University, and the hospital director, Professor Saeki (Masaaki Uchino), also supports him as it will help advance medical care. There is a rumor at Tojo University that if Saeki becomes president of the Japanese Medical Association, Ejiri will become the next hospital director, but…
Meanwhile, Shirota, who will be appearing in a TBS drama for the first time since “TOKYO MER ~Running Emergency Room~” (2021), will play Uesugi Toshihiro, the son of Uesugi Toshikazu (Sakai Masaaki), chairman of Japan’s largest automobile manufacturer Uesugi Motors, who is said to have a total asset of 600 billion yen, and the president of the company. Toshihiro approaches Amagi with a certain plan. He also seems to have some kind of connection with Professor Sugai (Danda Yasunori) of Ishin University…
It will be interesting to see what kind of color the two will add to the drama.
The first and latest episodes of “Black Pean Season 2” are available for free on TVer and TBS FREE. All episodes of Season 1 are available for free on U-NEXT and Netflix.
The series will begin streaming on Netflix in Asia from July 16th, and will be rolled out to other regions in due course.
■ Episode 6 (broadcast on August 17th) Synopsis
Sugai (Danta Yasunori) of Ishin University is aiming to make a comeback in the election for president of the medical association by successfully performing an operation on Chairman Uesugi (Sakai Masaaki) of Uesugi Motors, Japan’s largest automobile manufacturer.
The key to the operation is the latest medical robot, Elcano Darwin, which is an evolution of Elcano. It was developed by Ishin University doctor Reiko Hayakawa (Kumi Takiuchi) with the help of Tojo University’s Takashina (Kotaro Koizumi).
Sugai proposes to use the world’s best doctor, Elcano Darwin, to operate on Uesugi, who needs a direct anastomosis, but Uesugi tells him to find the best doctor in the world to operate it. Then, Amagi (Ninomiya Kazunari) appears.
In fact, Sugai had asked Amagi to perform a clinical trial operation in order to have Elcano Darwin learn Direct Anastomosis prior to Uesugi’s operation, and upon hearing about Chairman Uesugi’s enormous total assets, Amagi agreed.
Reiko, who came to Tojo University with Sugai and others before the clinical trial, encounters Nekoda (Shuri). In fact, Nekoda was a nurse at Ishin University until eight years ago, but she quit her job after an incident. Reiko digs up the incident.
Furthermore, on the day of the clinical trial, Amagi, seeing the condition of the patient, suddenly announces the cancellation of the operation. Meanwhile, Reiko collapses, clutching her chest.
