Snow Man’s Watanabe Shota and Nakamura Anne will hold an Instagram live broadcast just before the 5th episode of the drama “Aoshima-kun is mean”

■ Aoshima (Watanabe Shota) and Yukino (Nakamura Anne), two love-challenged people, will finally meet tonight!?

The fifth episode of Oshidora Saturday’s “Aoshima-kun is Mean,” co-starring Snow Man’s Watanabe Shota and Nakamura Anne, will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 11:30pm on August 17th.

The number of views for the first episode of the show that you missed has broken the all-time record for the Oshidora slot (calculated by Video Research, period: July 7th to July 13th). Every episode since the second episode has been ranked number one on TVer’s overall ranking, and the cumulative number of views for episodes 1 to 4 has exceeded 10.69 million (calculated by Video Research, period: July 7th to August 15th), making this classic romantic comedy “Aoshima-kun is Mean” the hottest and most heart-fluttering this summer.

When the broadcast was postponed for two weeks due to the 2024 Paris Olympics, social media was flooded with comments expressing anticipation for the broadcast of episode 5, such as “Aoshima is so mean,” “I’m so curious about what happens next at the hot spring. I can’t wait to see it,” and “I can’t wait to see what happens after the hot spring kiss.”

The fourth episode, which aired on July 27th, was titled “#LoveOutdoorBath”. The story is about Aoshima (Watanabe Shota) and Yukino (Nakamura Anne) spending a night at a hot spring inn, and viewers’ expectations were at their highest even before it aired. And it didn’t disappoint, with a series of heart-pounding developments, which led to a huge buzz and made it to the top of TVer’s overall rankings.

After Aoshima hugged her from behind, Yukino was feeling awkward, but at that very moment, they were alone in the elevator. Yukino was nervous, worried about what would happen if he held her hand again, but Aoshima looked at her and said, “I’ll stop pretending to be dating you. You can say that I broke up with you,” and quickly got off. Just as Yukino felt lonely for a moment, Aoshima came back through the door and said firmly, “I’m not joking when I say that I want you to go out with me.”

Many viewers’ hearts were captured from the start by Aoshima’s “#ComeBackConfession”, with comments such as “Those words when he came back made my heart flutter. It’s unfair — Aoshima-kun” and “That’s a great confession, it’s no joke.”

Furthermore, Yukino and other members of the general affairs department of the beverage manufacturer “Cat Beverage” went to Yugawara for a promotional event for their new product “Blue Punch.” Aoshima then appeared, put on cat ears with them, and started helping out with the work. The appearance of this “#CatEarHero” caused a frenzy on social media with comments like “Aoshima-kun is getting cuter and cuter” and “He’s just too wonderful.”

The last scene of the fourth episode also has a heart-pounding climax. Yukino was planning to relax at a hot spring inn after the event, but Aoshima said he was also staying at the same inn. Yukino pushed aside the awkwardness and invited Aoshima to drink in her room as a thank you for helping her with her work. When Yukino tried to get drunk and cover up, Aoshima pulled her to him with the cushion and said, “You’ve come this far…I won’t let you get carried away with the drunken momentum.”

The #ZabutonComeHere hashtag had all the girls’ hearts pounding. Furthermore, the adult plot in which Yukino and Aoshima, having made up their minds, collapse onto the tatami mat while kissing caused a stir, with comments such as, “It’s a huge heart-pounding scene,” “To put it mildly, it’s divine,” “Episode 4 is definitely divine,” “I can’t stop watching,” and “I don’t feel like I can sleep.” Many people commented, “Thanks to this, I get my heart pounding every time!”, “It’s seriously the best romantic comedy divine drama, so I want everyone in the nation to watch it,” and “I wonder what kind of heart-pounding moments await us in the future…”

Recently, following the two-week hiatus, the opening scene of episode 5 (2 minutes 18 seconds) was released on TVer and the TV Asahi official YouTube channel, among others, to viewers who were looking forward to the broadcast. The total number of views for this stream has already exceeded 620,000 (TVer 480,722 views *Calculated by Video Research / Period: August 10th to August 15th + TV Asahi official YouTube views combined).

In response to the subsequent developments in “#ZabutonComeHere,” many people expressed their eagerness for the broadcast of the fifth episode, saying things like, “I can’t wait to see what happens next,” “Two minutes and 18 seconds was too long,” and “The realistic lines really hit home.”

In addition, an Instagram Live will be held on the show’s official Instagram account (@oshidora_ex) and on the official accounts of Shota Watanabe and Anne Nakamura from 10:30pm on August 17th, just before the broadcast of the fifth episode. Be sure to check it out.

■ Episode 5 Synopsis
Yukino Katsuragi (Anne Nakamura), a general affairs employee at the beverage manufacturer Cat Beverage, was planning to relax at a hot spring inn after a promotional event for the new product “Blue Punch” in Yugawara. Then, for some reason, her younger boyfriend Mizuki Aoshima (Shota Watanabe), a system department employee who appeared to help out at the event, also said he was going to stay at the same inn.

Although Aoshima has confessed his love to her in earnest and she has not yet responded to him, Yukino is still interested in him and invites him to drink in her room, under the pretext of thanking him for helping her with work. Feeling even more awkward, Yukino tries to cover it up by drinking, but suddenly Aoshima pulls her closer, saying, “I won’t let you get carried away by being drunk after coming all this time.” Yukino nods at Aoshima’s words and finally makes up her mind. He gently removes his glasses and the two collapse onto the tatami mat.

A few days later, the two of them return to their daily lives after a night at the hot spring, but Yukino is still undecided about whether to leave her carefree single life and pursue a relationship with Aoshima, or to return to a life of being tossed around by love. However, no matter how much she thinks about it, she can’t find an answer, and she can’t find the courage. Yukino’s co-worker Takako Suzuki (Ryoko Kobayashi) is surprised and asks her how long she plans to keep running away from Aoshima. Yukino, who thinks she can’t go on like this, finally decides to meet Aoshima and talk to him. As the time of the appointment draws near, Yukino, who has made up her mind, is about to leave the office with all her might when, of all things, a problem occurs at work.

Meanwhile, Aoshima, who is waiting for Yukino at their usual izakaya, Manraitei, also seems to be troubled by something…
