Hey! Say! JUMP to release 34th single "UMP"! Lyrics by sumika's Kenta Kataoka

■The music video for “UMP” will premiere at 9pm on August 19th!

Hey! Say! JUMP has announced that they will release their 34th single, “UMP (pronounced: U-MP)” on September 24th.

This single, which is the first in one year and four months since the previous work “DEAR MY LOVER / Ura Omote”, was planned with the desire to deliver a new representative song for the group in 2024, 17 years after the group’s formation and CD debut, and towards the 20th anniversary that lies beyond that. The eight members were involved in the song selection and production, and this song, which was born after a long period of preparation, has a sense of speed and dynamic melody that foreshadows the acceleration towards the future, and the lyrics are written by Kenta Kataoka of sumika, and the unique words are so emotional that you won’t have time to breathe, making it a work that is packed with the feelings of Hey! Say! JUMP.

The B-side track “NERD” is the ending song for the drama “Kaware” starring member Yuya Takagi (the “taka” is officially spelled with a はしごだか). It’s a banger tune with a refreshing, light beat and impressive digital sound, and it shows the new charm of Hey! Say! JUMP.

The U-version (first limited edition ①) includes the pop tune “I don’t want to see BAD NEWS!” by Kiyoshi Ryojin and the wholehearted service song “Butler-teki Boyfriend” as coupling songs. The impressive 32-page cardboard photo booklet includes bonus footage of the original MV and making of “UMP”, as well as plenty of footage from the Tokyo venue of the event for purchasers of the album “PULL UP!” released in 2023.

The M version (first limited edition ②) includes the exhilarating rock anthem “Highlight,” a special digest that combines performance and making-of footage from the music festival “SAPPORO MUSIC EXPERIENCE 2024” that they appeared in March 2024, and “Business Trip Katakana Forbidden Sushi! in Sapporo,” which was filmed during their stay in Sapporo. You can enjoy Hey! Say! JUMP’s on and off in Sapporo to the fullest.

The P version (limited edition) includes a limited edition “Hey! Say! JUMP original music keychain”. If you hold it up to your smartphone, you might be able to hear something…

The regular edition will include the medium ballad “Nayuta no Umi,” which is filled with sadness and hope, and the positive song “Routine,” which will help you live each day with a light heart.
