Raul (Snow Man) releases on-site tour video for the movie “Akabane Kotsuko’s Bodyguard”! Passionate introduction to the staff who shared the good times and the bad

■The staff all praised Raul, saying things like, “He had the feeling of being the leader,” “He picked up the action incredibly quickly!” and “His long limbs really stood out!”

The movie “Akabane Honeko’s Bodyguard,” starring Raul (Snow Man), has been released nationwide since August 2. Now that all filming has been completed, two on-site tour videos by Raul have been released.

A film is made by various staff members, including the director, producer, acting department, cinematography department, lighting department, sound department, directing department, art department, costume department, and publicity department, all working together to complete the work. The relationship between the troupe leader Raul and the staff, which was built through his close interaction with many such staff members, is also worth paying attention to.

The first place we went to was Director Junichi Ishikawa, who took the megaphone for this film. Regarding the turbulent one and a half month shoot, Director Ishikawa commented, “It was packed! Everyone did the action scenes, there was dancing, and we had class 3-4, who rarely all got together… I think we managed to get through it after going through all that.” Director Ishikawa also showed a surprised look on Raul’s face, saying that it was the first time he had experienced a schedule of less than 100 days from the end of filming to the release.

Next, we interviewed Sato Yoji, who was in charge of photography. This film took a long time to make, with over 1,200 total cuts, and was made with the passion of the production team, who did not allow for compromise. During filming, during a scene where Raul was moving in sync with the camera, his fist hit the camera with too much force. Be sure to experience the powerful images, which were created through detailed discussions with the staff, at the cinema.

Next, we went to the lighting department. The lighting department was indispensable in creating the worldview of the film, such as the dark warehouse scene and the daytime aquarium date, and Raul expressed his gratitude, saying, “They lit up beautifully even on my bad days.” The lighting department is close in age to Raul, and we get a glimpse of their friendly relationship as they talk about their image changes and other topics.

The last part of the first tour video is the recording section. The recording section had a hard time with the large number of people, such as in the scene where the classmates gather. Takasuka, who has worked with Raul on set at Takizawa Kabuki, praised Raul, saying, “He had the feeling of being the leader. He takes the production seriously, so I felt that he was working hard with everyone, even while watching the performance.” Raul also smiled shyly at the many happy words that he felt Raul had grown, especially since he had seen him in a different production.

The first part of the second tour video is the action team, which is essential for this film. Raul had been practicing action scenes with him for about a month before filming began. At first, he was so uneasy that he thought, “Today is practice…”, but when filming was over, he said, “It was so much fun! I want to study more!” and his impression of action scenes seemed to have changed completely. Action team member Tomita praised Raul, saying, “He’s an incredibly quick learner! And he has long limbs, so he looks great.” The most difficult scene for the action team was that, since there were so many classmates, they had to think about the type of action for each person and change the action for each character in detail so that they wouldn’t overlap when they all fought. The action scenes that show off each person’s fighting techniques are also worth watching.

Next, we have the directing team, who had a lot of contact with the cast. Raul said that the most memorable episode was when the directing team distributed intercoms to about 20 classmates to share information. He also showed concern for the health of the staff who had to work after filming was over, showing his consideration for his colleagues during the filming period, a true display of a leader’s character.

And finally, there is a tour of the command vehicle, with Okudaira Daiken, who plays Somejima Sumihiko, as the reporter. The command vehicle is usually used mainly by Itobu Tadaya (Kura Yuki) and Shuto Koran (Shiha) of the monitoring team. The pop interior is filled with toys, sweets, and other playful props, and you can feel the attention to detail put into it by the art club. As Okudaira introduces the command vehicle, he gets excited when he discovers that Morikubo Shosuke’s (Tachibana Yuki) medical box has been placed inside the vehicle, showing a completely different innocent demeanor from the calm and collected Sumihiko.
