■Naniwa Danshi’s Ryusei Onishi teaches his secret somen noodle techniques!
Naniwa Danshi’s Ryusei Onishi will appear on the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV program “The Secret Kenmin Show Kiwami” which will air on August 22nd.
The August 22nd broadcast will feature “The Truth and Secrets of Hyogo Prefecture Residents: Osaka Roadside Station Investigation Team,” which will deliver the charm of the area for a full hour.
In the story about “Ibonoito,” a brand of somen noodles from Hyogo, Onishi’s hometown, he appealed to the people of Hyogo by sharing stories and appeals unique to his hometown. “I had somen noodles stocked at home, and during summer vacation I would eat them once every three days,” said Onishi. He also shared the technique of “using only ice without water” to prevent the noodles from becoming soggy, rather than soaking the noodles in ice water, as is common in other regions.
Furthermore, Onishi had an image of Kuroobi, which is considered the special grade of Ibonoito, as “a wooden box you get as a souvenir.” When he actually tasted the special grade Kuroobi Hine at the tasting event, he beamed and said, “I’m proud that it’s this delicious. I want everyone to try it.”
In “Secrets of Osaka,” they introduce the surprising behaviors that Osaka residents do at restaurants. Onishi recounts a “secret” episode that unfolded between him and the woman sitting next to him at a restaurant he visited with the other members, exciting the studio.
The Roadside Station Investigation Team conducted a thorough investigation into the Hokkaido Bread that combines cream cheese with a mysterious delicacy. “I can’t imagine a combination with wheat, but it seems like a good snack,” said Onishi. When asked by Tanaka of Bakusho Mondai, “Are you a heavy drinker?”, he revealed a surprising side to him, saying, “Well, I don’t get really drunk or anything.”
