■Episode 5 synopsis
When Aoi (Anne Nakamura) sees the body of Bito (Hajime Inoue), who had died in the detention center, she has a flashback to when she discovered the body of Sho Fuwa’s (Yoshihiko Hosoda) sister 16 years ago. At Nozomi Police Station, Investigation Section 1, she is investigating the culprit who kidnapped Megumi’s (Satsukawa Manami) daughter. At the request of the kidnapper, Kosaka (Yokoyama Yutaka) claims to be a person involved in the incident 16 years ago. Aoi asks Fuwa if there is anyone else who knows the code that only we should know. Fuwa replies that his sister Rei knew the code. Aoi borrows Rei’s belongings from Fuwa and examines them. In the midst of this, Aoi’s memories of her come back to life.

The media learns that the eyewitness testimony from an unpublished incident 16 years ago may have been false, and it is reported on the news. What’s more, an article is circulating that accuses Aoi of being the daughter of a serial killer from 16 years ago who lied about her identity and became a police officer. Aoi is ordered by Ichijo to stay at home until the situation calms down…
