■After 34 years, the excitement and excitement of Nippon Budokan from that day is back!
A live film “Dreams on 19900119 Reborn Edition-” which contains the tour final of REBECCA’s last live before disbanding “REBECCA LIVE TOUR FROM ’89 TO ’90 BLOND SAURUS Strikes Back” held at Nippon Budokan on January 19, 1990. “Return of Blond Saurus-” will be screened in premium theaters for one night only at 24 movie theaters in 20 cities nationwide.
To commemorate this live film screening, a live music video for one of REBECCA’s representative songs, “FRIENDS” from the live film, was released on Sony Music’s official YouTube channel prior to the screening.
On April 21st, the 40th anniversary of their debut, REBECCA announced that they will be holding their first national tour in 7 years since 2017, “REBECCA NOSTALGIC NEW WORLD TOUR 2024”.
REBECCA’s seventh original album “BLOND SAURUS”, released on May 21, 1989, topped the charts, and in July 1989, they held their first Tokyo Dome performance, an unprecedented milestone in their career. It has been successful. Subsequently, in November of the same year, the “REBECCA LIVE TOUR FROM ’89 TO ’90 BLOND SAURUS Strikes Back” tour was held, and the following year, on January 19, 1990, with the tour final held at Nippon Budokan, REBECCA announced an indefinite hiatus. and shifted to individual member activities. In the end, the band’s disbandment was officially announced on February 14, 1991.
This time, a live film of the final stage, the Budokan performance, will be shown.
For this premiere screening, Kishi Nobu, who served as the cinematographer for this performance, re-edited the footage based on camera footage and digital multi-tape, and up-converted it to HD using the latest technology. GOH HOTODA, who is also a Grammy award-winning engineer and active worldwide, remixed the audio from multi-tape and made it into 5.1ch surround for the movie version. This will be a rare opportunity to relive a special night with 17 songs and a duration of approximately 2 hours. Be sure to enjoy the theater’s dynamic sound and large screen to your heart’s content.
