YOSHIKI’s “world’s most luxurious dinner show,” “EVENING / BREAKFAST with YOSHIKI 2024 in TOKYO JAPAN,” held at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo on August 31st, came to a spectacular finale. For the 10th anniversary event, a “VIP Premium Package” was prepared for 300,000 yen per seat, but it sold out in the blink of an eye, which attracted a lot of attention even before the event started. Despite being completely exhausted and suffering from severe pain in his cervical vertebrae and numbness and pain in his hands after undergoing emergency surgery in October, he successfully completed the 13 performances including the breakfast show and dinner show.

The concert included performances of X JAPAN’s signature songs “Say Anything” and “Forever Love,” the first performance of “Nessun Dorma” at a dinner show, guest appearances by the girl group “Bi-ray” and boy group “XY” produced by YOSHIKI, and a collaboration with the Asami Maki Ballet Company on “Swan Lake,” among other must-see events. The powerful drum solos also added excitement to every performance, and on the final day, he even hung his head while protecting his neck. With surgery just around the corner and his body reaching its limits, the audience gave him a huge round of applause for his realistic drumming, which he put more soul into than ever before.

On the final day, the dinner show venue was connected to the live broadcast and the group made a surprise appearance on “24 Hour TV 47.” Because Yasuko, the charity marathon runner, lived in an orphanage when she was in high school, this year’s 24 Hour TV will feature a marathon to raise funds for orphanages.

“I respect Yasuko’s challenge to run this time. I also lost my father to suicide when I was a child, and despite the pain I’ve been through I’ve been able to get to this point thanks to all my fans, so when I heard that it was a charity event for orphanages, I wanted to support her,” he commented.

As the MCs and the audience at the venue gasped in surprise at the sudden surprise, she performed a piano rendition of “Forever Love” to encourage Yasuko. She also revealed that she will be appearing live on stage at the Ryogoku Kokugikan on September 1st, exciting the audience.

Also at the dinner show that day, Matteo Bocelli, the second son of the world’s greatest tenor Andrea Bocelli, made a surprise appearance and performed Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”

On the 30th, the day before the final day, X JAPAN guitarist PATA also appeared and performed “Rusty Nail” with YOSHIKI to great cheers. It was a one-night-only premium collaboration that fans couldn’t resist.

This dinner show, full of surprises, began in 2014 and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Immediately after the announcement, the “VIP Premium Package,” which was released for the first time in addition to the regular tickets, attracted a lot of attention. Despite the unprecedentedly high price of 300,000 yen per seat, reservations flooded in and the tickets sold out in an instant.

There were also rare opportunities to enjoy YOSHIKI’s performance from such a close distance that you could almost touch him, such as YOSHIKI himself walking through the audience and giving presents directly during the curtain call, and many moments of cheers erupted from the entire venue. In addition, there was a fashion show for his kimono brand YOSHIKIMONO, and an exhibition of works from MAISON YOSHIKI PARIS, which were shown at this year’s Milan Collection, and other attractive content that only YOSHIKI could offer was lined up, making it a performance that continued to captivate the audience with content worthy of being called “the most luxurious dinner show in the world.”

Among the guests were many famous people and VIPs active worldwide, including representatives of Japan’s leading companies such as Rakuten Chairman Mikitani, Salesforce Chairman Koide, Mori Building CEO Tsuji, and Sanrio President Tsuji, as well as famous people such as DAIGO, Anmika, Nippon Television audition project judges TAKAHIRO, Nakasone Rino, Koshino Junko, Matt, and Tegoshi Yuya. In addition, the venue was bustling with heavyweights from all over the world, including former Japanese ambassador to the UK and former Supreme Court judge Hayashi Keiichi, former Japanese ambassador to the US Fujisaki Ichiro, Rob Mondavi, who works with YOSHIKI on the wine brand “Y by YOSHIKI,” and a representative from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Investment.

On the same day, YOSHIKI CHANNEL aired a report from DAIGO, who had appeared as a guest on the previous show, and a surprise interview with YOSHIKI after the finale. When YOSHIKI introduced DAIGO during the show, he commented, “NAM = tears, I can’t see tomorrow,” which got the crowd excited.

The final song of each show was “ENDLESS RAIN,” and fans sang along with the mirror ball and laser effects, creating a sense of unity in the venue and bringing the show to a moving finale.

After the final performance, YOSHIKI tearfully reflected on this special 10th anniversary dinner show, saying, “Thank you everyone for your support during these 13 performances. I don’t think I would be standing here or even alive without everyone’s support. I am truly grateful. Even as we speak, there are so many people suffering all over the world. I believe we have a mission to be alive. I hope we can deliver our love to those people as well.”

After the dinner show, YOSHIKI is already planning to perform in various countries around the world. On September 17th, he will be holding a discussion on the new use of AI in art and music at the large-scale event “DREAM FORCE 2024” held by Salesforce in San Francisco. In addition, he will undergo his third emergency surgery on October 8th at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California, for the cervical spine surgery he recently had at a press conference.
